I did not know it was hospital that offers hotel style accomodation, I just wanted a place to stay for the weekend so it was a nice surprise. The thermal bath and sauna was great, it is a nice touch that it is exclusive to the hotel so you can enjoy the healing and relaxing thermal water in a more private setting.

Harkany is a small quiet town and when we walked in the evening, some local restaurants (csarda) we saw on Google maps were closed (February). We tried to enter some restaurants at 20h and were told that the kitchen is closed at 18h. Everything is closed in this town in the evening. Funny, but the only way to find some food was to go to Spar supermarket and get some ready-to-go cooked food. Only another thing we found working in the evening was Tenkes Csarda, 6km drive by car. The local bakery on the main street has some local cakes, but the selection was very limited and was nothing special.

Well, what everybody will rather dislike is the current...
Well, what everybody will rather dislike is the current inflation and, consequently, rising prices, but this rise is not that huge. Harkany is an ideal place for relaxation, swimming, lying on the grass in the park where the pools are located, and doing nothing apart from enjoying your time there.
If you like the wine offered in the bar located next to the main entrance to the strandfurdo, visit the vinery - its owner is Gergen Birtok and you`ll find his shop in Siklos-Gyod, Jaro Peter ut.35. You can buy there wine on draft or in bottles.

I can sincerely recommend Harkany to everybody starting from...
I can sincerely recommend Harkany to everybody starting from families with kids, ending on older tourists looking for good relaxation.
Apart from the pools which are the most important attraction, there are some other must-try things - Szigeti Halaszcsarda with fish dishes, Setany Etterem and Amadeus Cukraszda (especially when you travel with kids)
The city is small, so you can get everywhere on foot or borrow a bike.
Visit Siklos with its castle and go to Villany where you can enjoy wine. My hot favourite - Osi Gabor Pinceszete, the shop located in Villány, at Baross Gábor Street 56 and their white, semi-sweet Mustra.

The only thing better than the spa itself was the superb Hungarian food, offered in many restaurants, on the main street, the best of which, in our opinion, was "Robinson" . You should try their 'Libo mai" with the red form Vilany.

I was in Harkány in the early 1990s.
I was in Harkány in the early 1990s. Nothing has changed since then. Time has stopped there. If you visited places like Sárvár or Hajdúszoboszló in Hungary, don´t ever go to Harkány. It´s really disappointing.
The house is located in a small street near the Harkany SPA, it's about 3min by car, but I wouldn't recommend a walk to someone older (its quite a bit of walking). Apartment is very specious (which i think pictures dont show) and newly renovated. It also has a cute little backyard. The host were easy to reach and solved our problems as they appeared.
My friends and I had a great time in this vintage design, elegant apartment! The host was very kind to us too! Quite ok located, for us it was important to be close to the thermal baths which was like a 10 minutes walk, tops. I would definitely recommend this apartment for a cozy and stylish stay with friends or as a couple!

Location is excellent, very close to the thermal spa and to the main street with most of the Harkany restaurants. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. The room was clean, not to the extreme though. The bed has one of the best hotel mattresses I have used, it is very firm.
Nice and well-equipped rooms, bathroom clean and comfortable, shared kitchenette for two rooms, well-equipped. A quiet and very peaceful place, a nicely kept garden with flowers, tables with benches under the shed, barbecue, a small playground for children.
Excellent location, very quiet, full with birdsong, very kind and helpful hosts. Well-separated rooms and bathrooms, ideal for adult groups, but also with multiple families. The rented house was actually the number 142, not the 140.
Good location, next to thermal baths, restaurants around, comfortable bed. Spa and massage in the hotel were okay. Fast check-in/check-out process, our room was ready way before the official check-in time, which was great.
We really enjoyed our stay, highly recommend it. Minutes walk to spa or supermarket. Apartment clean and well equipped with everything you need in a nice and quiet street. The owner was great! Thank you again!
Good location, absolutely clean and organized. I saw families in other rooms as well. The atmosphere was really nice, staff was helpful. The pictures on Booking.com were correct and representative.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It is located in a beautiful park. The staff welcomed us with Croatian language and positive energy. The brekfast was lovely as well.
