We loved the two beaches we went to. The old town is lovely, and we love staying in it. Surrounding shops and facilities have everything you need, they are close and easy to access.

They developed the services a lot, really good small pebble covered beach in a huge bay protected from high winds by Brac island in front of the bay. Many good restaurants, OK parking, nice port with old buildings in great condition. The apartments are usually higher up on a steep mountain side, providing a harder walk but a better view :)
We drove over from the opposite side of the Adriatic sea, so we could compare it with the Italian side (Jesolo area), and the prices were almost the same, the pebble beach maybe better (at least clearer water than the sandy beach across), less windy, but still missing the happiness coming from the Italian people, and the highest quality in food and entertainment, Croatia a bit more laid back, things are not a smoothly organized as on the Italian Adria. The only thing really bothersome is the restaurant stuff coming over a few seconds after you start reading the menu placed in front of their places. They do not give you any time to read it through. I know in some countries they do this, but I always leave when they do not give me time to choose based on the menu.

Makarska is a smaller town, but you find most of what you need. Do not expect big malls. There is however one shopping mall that covers electronics, clothes, shoes and other items.
You find a nice harbour, some churches, a local market.
There are plenty of restaurants there, something for everybody.
There are many water activities and things to do, excursions with boats, jetski... The water is super clean and clear.

I have visited the city of Makarska many times. I love it there, despite the long journey (from Slovakia). I like everything about Makarska, from the delicious smell of the bakery, to the number of people who "mingle" there, evening walks in the harbor, beautiful clear sea and amazing views.

Excellent place with clean water and a relaxing atmosphere. The beach near the Hotel "Palace" was found more suitable for daytime activities. Sea water more cleaner at the beach Biokovka and up to Ramova.

Nice place for 5+ days holidays. A walk around the lightshouse and St Peter's statue is recommended, especially in the evening, at sunset. Plenty of restaurants and bars, including near the beach. The offer is similar, but the staff and the location make all the difference. Some are near the beach, other benefit of mountainview, so everybody can choose what they like. We ate at Berlin, Mucron, Bounty and Street Food, all of them were good, especially Bounty (though a bit expensive).
Careful at bikers and scooters when driving, they also make a lot of noise during the evening and early in the morning.

The location and view is the best in Makarska! In the afternoon we would sit on our balcony and watch all the boats return to the harbour and had a perfect view of the promenade. The breakfast was good and we were served a huge omelette which was very tasty. The hotel is right next door to many restaurants and a short walk(5-10 minutes) to the beach. Also only a few minutes walk to catch the ferry, which was really convenient.
This place is amazing. Much better than on pictures, we were amazed how nice it was. Owners are super nic and very helpful. Place is clean, quiet, new and with smells of Croatian nature with great views of mountains and sea. We have been in Makarska 6 times in different places and this one was absolutelly the best. Excellent for families with children. We will be back 100%!
Everything. Probably the best place in Makarska. The apartment is very practical and cozy. Two balconies: one overlooks the mountain and the other overlooks the sea. Convenient location: 10 minutes to the sea and embankment, 5 minutes to the city mall and Lidle. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again next time.
Charming apartment with great view. Nice, clean and modern apartment with big balcony. One of the best apartments we have stayed in recently!!! Mr. Klem, the host, was very kind to us and gave us helpful info about places that can be visited in Makarska! I recommend it to everyone who would want to visit that side of Croatia.

It was the best holiday in Croatia. Apartment is really good for groups. Accommodation on the highest level. Clean, nice, well located and fully equipped apartment. Our hosts are friendly and nice people. They did everything to help us and make our vacation extraordinary. I can say I have new friends in Croatia.

The apartment is new, confortable and very well equiped.
One thing that should not be overlooked is that the price paid includes access to the Cubana beach parking lot, parking being very difficult in Makarska.
Right next to the park and beach and a few minutes walk from Makarska old town makes this a great option. The apartment furniture is modern and everything is clean and it's possible to park in front.
