The hotel was perfect, the pool area and food was great. It was also very clean, the housekeepers were incredibly friendly and so were all the staff I met. I would recommend this hotel to anyone if they visit platanias.

Staff was nice and friendly especially reception staff, and they have upgraded our room for two nights to deluxe suite due to not being able to come on the day of booking so really nice gesture! Breakfast was really good, you were able to choose from lots of different meal options and every day was slightly different. Beach from the hotel was okay sandy/city beach. Proximity to nice beaches with car is really good as Falasarna is only 40 minutes away by car, Balos is also close if you want to find tours with ship etc.

So many shops and places to eat, it's a bit like a time warp...
So many shops and places to eat, it's a bit like a time warp with no people pestering trying to get you to buy fake sunglasses and watches, even the shop/bar & restaurant staff leave you alone and let you make your own decisions.
Also there is a world war 2 museum up the hill that is well worth a visit.

Good family oriented resort with lots of eating options from casual to more formal, international to traditional Cretan, close to visit Chania on an excellent bus service. Many handy Supermarkets for those wishing to self cater. Water shoes might be a good idea the beach is kind of sandy the shore is pebbly.

Busy main road, but many apartments off side roads. Good Greek bars and restaurants, which I prefer. Although lots of modern bars and shops if you want. Couple of dancing bars, not if your face, no nightclubs which is good. Restaurants serving tradition food - Nisos (by sea), Sonos (by sea). Drosia (side road). Great cocktails and drinks at Utopia, great staff, more Greek like.

Was just ok, the rooms are clean but the furniture is old and the towels stained. Breakfast was good but the same every day, the beach in front not so clean and full of little stones.
The employes war friendly, specially the cleaning ladies.
The garden was well cared of, lots of flowers and trees.
Great price/quality ratio. Staff extremely kind, supportive and friendly. We took half board, and both the breakfast and the dinner were great, tasty food, wide assortments to choose from, probably something for everyone. There are three big swimming pools and few kids' pools on the property, own beach with free access to sunbeds and towels. The place is very clean and well maintained. Chania is at 30 minutes bus ride. We will come back over the next years; till now we went four times in Chania area, second time to Platanias.
Great place for families just in the center of the popular village of platanias. A lot of nice restaurants and cafes within a walking distance.
Although Platanias is crowded and busy in the summer we found the hotel really quiet and relaxing. The pool was big and clean and there was a smaller one for kids as well. Pool towels are also provided with an extra cost. A pool bar /restaurant is at site with fair prices.
The room was large and clean with comfortable beds and a kitchenette with all the necessary accessories.
The location of the hotel is great. Close to restaurants, shops, beaches.
Rooms are clean and renovated. They change towels and bed lines every three days.
On a kitchen you will find everything you need to cook.

I went to Platanias Beach. It is small pebbles and sand beach. It is better to have a swimming shoes.
There is another beach – Agia Marina which is a sand beach. But I didn't go there.
Sea water is clean and nice.
The owner Effi and all her staff were so wonderful, the apartment was super clean, modern, and comfortable, and walking distance to everything - shops, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, the bus stop, etc. It was also right on the beach and had a beautiful little garden area to hang out in. Even though it was in the heart of Platanias, the apartment was in a peaceful, quiet street away from all the noise. I would recommend it to everyone!
Swimming pool for adults, the possibility to go to the other hotel Porto, to the sea and to the swimming pools. Very large room, a studio in fact, with all the necessary facilities, everything clean and well set up. The location is located very close to the bus station and the central area of Platanias; you cross a street and in 200-300 m you reach the sea, many grocery stores, parking lots, tavernes.
Villa Sissy is one of the best appointed villas we have ever stayed in. The decor is fantastic, the location is right beside the main restaurants and shops without being overlooked or noisy and the host is amazing!
We have stayed in a lot of villas throughout Crete and Villa Sissy is by FAR the best of them all. If you are fortunate enough to find availability, you should book immediately.
We loved our stay so much! Good location, easy access to Chania and other places. Lots of little shops, restaurants and supermarkets nearby too. The house is absolutely beautiful, especially the view from upper terrace. We got some little local treats when arrived and the owners took really good care of us and made sure everything was good. We could definitely come here again!
It is our third visit to Crete, and the second time in Gelina. We repeated because our first time was great.

Very happy to have chosen Rania hotel for our holidays in Chania. Nice beachfront room with a beautiful view of Thodorou island. Owners and staff are helpful & kind. And the hotel restaurant, Olive's serve amazing dishes with a breathaking view of the sunset ! As such we have decided to extend our stay.
its really spacious, we loved the balcony with the see view! the owner was very helpful, organized taxi from airport, gave us tips for visiting and even rented us a car, really nice guy…garden is amazing! its very clean (cleaned every day) and quite. good station for visiting cretes nicest beaches!
Maria, the operator, is a gem of a person. Kind and attentive. The room is nice and bright, ery close to the beach and the center of Platanias. There are lots of places to eat close by, and the main club area is a 5-minute walk away. The bed was comfy. All in all, very good value for your money
Mrs Frideriki was very sweet and her son George was very helpful. He recommended many places to visit and good taverns to eat. The apartment is 2 mins walking distance from the beach, shops, cafe, taverns and bars. If ever in Crete again I would definitely book here to stay.
This hotel is a wonderful little oasis in the middle of the very vivid and loud platanias. the pool is nice and enough to swim. the hotel is really close to the beach and right at the bus station and a supermarket - so it is really very comfortable.
