Lovely new hotel, with beautiful deco and furniture. Fabulous breakfast and pool area. Right next to the old town which has up-market taverna's. Supermarket, bakery etc minutes away. Car parking area is large and a minute or two from the hotel. Malia has a great soft sand beach. All the staff were very helpful, so ask for advice on what to do etc. Extremely clean hotel.

Another hidden gem unlocked, this time on Crete.
Still looking like new, good location and with its "own" restaurant just across de the street. Cute employees, delivering perfect service, from checking in to serving breakfast (which, btw, was another big surprise regarding how good it was and the way it was offered) or giving direction/information about what to do in the area.
Also, I can understand a little bit of Greek, especially the "bad words", so the banter that went between them didn't go unnoticed and it was funny, especially at breakfast time.
The beach is less than 15min of walking away and the old city less than 5 minutes. The "strip" with all the bars/clubs can be reached in less than 10min, same with the supermarkets.
If you don't feel like walking to the beach, you can park yourself at the hotel's pool and relax.
The bathrooms are clean, the shower large enough, nothing is cramped. The rooms also have a small "kitchen" area, with everything one needs. Also, pretty good AC.
The restaurant is nicely decorated, on two levels and it has plenty of tables. The menu is about the same, everywhere on the island. Ate 2-3 times there, solid cooking.

We went off season which for us was perfect, I think in full season it would be rather "touristy", so if that's your bag then its a great location. Went to a number of restaurants and can say they were all excellent.

I went just as the off season begun and this was a perfect time for me. The Theo Star Beach Hotel is a great place to stay, close to everything though far enough away for a quiet relaxing stay.
The old town of Malia is a must and the food in restaurants like Milos, Avli and Zorbas is not only great value but some of the best food I had whilst island hopping from Crete to Rhodes to Kos.

We liked Malia a lot because you had so much things to do there. There was a lot of happening for younger people and for old people as well. Everyone was super nice and the prices in the restaurants were amazing. The only thing is that if you are there in July/August it could be a little to loud.

Its quite party place, but had a hotel a bit outside the city, so was very good! I would not recommend to plan Malia city as family holidays, but in our case (as we were staying a bit outside - Olympus Studious) that was great with small kid as well.
Very good food and amazing beach, clean and safe sea.

Malia is the perfect trip for anyone. You can get anything you want, from going out at the clubs to a peaceful relaxing vacation with your family. Next to this you can rent transportation on every corner on the street, have various dining possibilities (Mexican streetfood, Italian, Greek...). You can also visit other places in Crete using the very cheap public transportation system.

We had a great time staying at pleasure beach hotel. Perfect location, just few minutes away from the beach. It is a cosy quiet place to stay with family/friends. The pool was lovely.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing, the host was nice and friendly, They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable.
Last but not least, the breakfast was fresh and delicious, kind waiters, and great owner!
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Malia.
Excellent hotel in a strategic location close to the bus stop and the centre of Malia with restaurants and supermarket. The room is spacious, cosy and clean with a comfortable bed, balcony and kitchenette. I stayed at the hotel for a week and extended my stay for another fortnight because I liked everything so much. Many thanks to Katerina for her active help and quick response to all my requests. Everything was perfect!
Staff were exceptional from the outset. Very detailed check in and always on hand 24hrs a day if required. Restaurant was excellent,good choice of food and good value, served by friendly staff. Special thanks go to Elektra and the owner for their friendliness and help during our stay, made our stay even more special.

We rented a villa with a private pool and loved the stay there. The villa is much larger than the rooms in Crete and has its own parking spot, so was extremely easy to move with a child. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially Athina who was our main contact person and facilitated everything. The food is also delicious.
The hotel is located directly at the beach. The garden is beautiful, the swimming pool stunning and the restaurent has delicious meals (international menu). To the city Malia you can walk and you can walk along the beach to its harbour. The public beach is near by and you have a wonderful view to the sea. The hosts are very friendly.
Very nice host and staff. Well located, close to many restaurants and pub’s. It’s a lively area. About 1km walking from Malia beach, but also easy to go to other areas of Crete by car.
Even though we had a problem with the shower trim in our second day, this was promptly solved, in about one hour it was replaced with a new one.
The location was perfect, the hotel staff very friendly and the pool area with bar very nice. I travelled with kids (9&11)in the 2nd week of June, so the high season had not started yet and it was perfect time I think. It was easy to walk everywhere - Mália old town only 500m from hotel! So lovely place.
There is definitely the best hotel on Crete! Amazing! Wonderful territory! Smart swimming pool ( deep and shallow where it's necessary). Very delicious and every time something new on breakfast. Comfortable atmosphere. You feel like at home! But the most impressive - people, who are really care of you!
A truly boutique experience. Calm and quiet and all curated personally by Marina with care. On the edge of town so peaceful with sea near and mountains behind. The deluxe rooms with private pools are exceptional. No need to visit beach here but provides a base to explore this side of Crete easily.
Good location. Not a big hotel but nice and very close to the own beach. Umbrellas at beach for free, bar is just steps from beach. If you want to discover Crete and live close to seaside at same time, it is very good option. Not far from Heraklion airport is good as well.

hotel in the center but not too close to the noise in the middle of the night (those who knows the Malia will understand). Very good staff, nice and helpfull. the bed was huge and to confortable, the jacuzzi is very good. The pool is opened untill 23.00.
This is the shittest hotel I've ever been don't recommend coming here stay away cleans your room every 4 days and air condition is on you 7 euros per day what a scam the room is not clean you won't feel comfortable at all I'VE WARNED YOU!
Requested a quiet room overlooking beach and got it. Beautiful scenery and great beach. Convenient for grocery stores, etc. Ancient ruins are very close. Airport half hour away. Owner is very welcoming. Can get snack at hotel.

The location is a very touristic place, there are only hotels and tavernas. Nearby there is very windy sandy beach, there is "Pleasure" beach also, where you can have a cocktail and a sunbed.
Malia was not that special. But the hotel was very good value for money. Room was spacious. Every day cleaning. Breakfast was good. And staff was very friendly.
