The stained glass windows of the cathedral are wonderful, and so is the old city. Metz is a pleasant city, go for the flowery ice creams, they are beautiful and delicious.The free bus to centre Pompidou is a surprise.

Beautiful city to walk around in. Extraordinary cathedral if you are into architecture; Centre Pompidou-Metz is also superb from the perspective of architecture. Also: very extensive archaeology museum if you are into that. And there are great restaurants. Not too touristy (too far for day trips from Paris, in contrast to Reims). I did have a problem with the housing; best to avoid "rock-in-share" listings (I was charged for two nights, and also charged a "cleaning" fee, but was never able to pick up the key or enter the place).

Metz is an interesting city.
Metz is an interesting city. We hope to spend more time there, walking by the rivers and canals. Metz can't be blamed for bad weather. We just chose the wrong time of year for our trip. We now have maps and a guide to the city and hope to return. Due to the winding streets it can be difficult to find oone's way around but that can lead to interesting discoveries.

Pretty little French town. All sights within walking distance. Large pedestrian zone. Excellent restaurants with ambience.
To visit: Cathedral, covered market, Centre Pompidou, Museums. Be sure to stroll through the pedestrian zone.

It was perfect for us. Clean and had everything that we needed. It was close to the city centre and had beautiful views. The host was amazing! Patrick was extremely helpful and made our stay very comfortable.

There was so much to see and do and we could have easily...
There was so much to see and do and we could have easily spent 3 days exploring the city but instead had only a day and a half.
The electric buses in the centre (which look like trams) are free and easy to use.
Everything in the centre is within walking distance.
It also has a two Indoor shopping centre - the Muse just outside of the centre is by far the nicer of the two.
The train station is absolutely stunning and was built for Kaiser Wilhelm 2 and is he had apartments there.
The people are friendly, food is reasonably priced and the sights are stunning.
The hotel is in the centre of town so handy to everything. The hotel is in an older historic building but has been very well renovated to modern standards. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and had a nice bathroom. Breakfast was excellent - very good quality food and lots of variety, even fresh squeezed orange juice and scrambled eggs. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the dining room at all times.
I stopped at this hotel on my way to Calais. Very clean, one double and one single bed in the room, plus a kitchenette! Where there was everything, from a small stove to microwave to fridge. My Labrador was also very welcome. The breakfast was amazing also, the bed comfortable and the surroundings silent and peaceful. The location is great, a nice walk into city centre. Will definitely stay here again if I find myself near Metz.

The interior was so nice! Beautiful interior and als very clean. I’m so glad that this place happened to be available for the days that we wanted to go to Metz last-minute. It’s located right in the city center. You can also arrive whatever time you want, because there is a key box next to the door and the owner will send you an email with instructions about how to get in.
Perfectly located, close to the main station and the city centre - most locations to visits within walking reach. Parking available in the streets around, or the hotel one if free, or public secured ones (same price of the hotel, due to agreement they have). Good breakfast and room facilities. Water provided for free.

Super easy to access apartment (clear instructions), comfortable and clean, with a lovely welcome message. Great shower and bathroom. Parking included. Located within walking distance of great patisserie and supermarket, as well as bus stops to the centre of Metz.
The hotel was cosy and romantically furnished, with a nice little outdoor space on the first floor. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location right in the old city centre, facing the magnificent cathedral, and with the fine river promenade very close by.
A late booking when my previous hotel announced they no longer had cycle parking. This hotel had basic cooking facilities and most of what you needed in a self catering room. The location is very convenient near the station and city centre.
The apartment is perfect for two...beautifully decorated with an amazing view of a main square in Metz. Location was ideal with most restaurants/bars/cafes within a fifteen minute walk and some right outside the street entrance.
Clean hotel tucked away where you would not expect it. Private secured parking, with clean rooms, clean bathroom. Blackout curtains and no noise. We were pleasantly surprised (family of 5). Breakfast was simple but fair enough.
First impression was that hotel was a little tired, but then we saw the river view and afterwards discovered how short the walk was to the city centre. Great value for money for a clean, comfortable and central location.
