Lovely beach with plenty or good restaurants and cafes along the front. It is a bit tricky driving around trying to find a parking space, as there are lots of one way systems and narrow roads. The parking is free when you find somewhere.. The restaurants along the front all do good food, and some specialise in sea food. They are all much the same, and all quite expensive, a menu is the best deal, but actually very good food usually.

This is a fishing village which is pretty and calming, great for a holiday break. The beaches are sandy and the water is warm with hardly any waves. They have artificial lagoons which are great for kids to play in as the level is shallow for a long distance. Many activities nearby, mini-golf, tennis, biking etc. Lots of restaurants and eateries around. The canal with boat rides and fresh fish is also excellent. The region can get quite full in summer but in this area remains relatively peaceful but has lots to do and just right!

Of the restraunts we sampled during our rather short stay,...
Of the restraunts we sampled during our rather short stay, our hotel restraunt (Hotel Restraunt le Voilis) was undoubtedly the best place to eat in Le Grau-d'Agde.
Very easy to get around Le Grau-d'Agde - relatively small and compact.
However, didn't see a taxi rank and on one occasion waiting for a taxi for 50 mins.
Buses, infrequently.
The beach is very good particularly for families - gently sloping sand with breakwaters.
Cafes, bars, ice cream parlours and restraunts on the promenade, within 5m of the beach, as well as a market square a little quieter than the promenade.

This is the place for a family break on the beach with safe sea and golden sand. It's not full of bars and night clubs but full of good restaurants and ice cream parlors. The town is small and friendly, it's nothing like the developed resorts nearby. Lovely and relaxing.
Boutique small hotel located right on the pedestrian boardwalk. We had a sea view room that overlooked the boardwalk restaurants, and passing fishing vessels, so could be noisy in peak holiday season but for us on a Sunday evening in September it was no problem.
Hotel was very clean and staff were excellent.
Recommended for an overnight or short stay, but as the hotel clearly states there is no parking save for local roads and spaces here are very limited.
Apart from the need to park away from the square that the hotel is on after unloading our bags, because of the morning market, the location of l'Escale is great - had a room with a view of the square and of the sea at the end of the road. I received instructions by text in good time and appreciated the keyless checkin process. The room was a nice size, with a very comfortable bed, very clean and it had a small balcony.
Extremely helpful lady who welcomed us, checked us in, and served us drinks, and breakfast on the terrace the following morning. The hotel/cafe overlooks a square and is in easy (1 minute) walk of a strip of restaurants that line the edge of the River Herault. We asked for a restaurant recommendation and were not disappointed by the answer. We would book again but request a room overlooking the square.
Location on the sea front is perfect. Rooms were well maintained and cleaned every day. Staff very friendly. Given that this was a hotel restaurant the food was wonderful and clearly it's a very well regarded place as it was busy even this late in the season. The price of the room was also superb value for money. Hence I'm focussed more on the positives than the slight whinges below.
Lovely welcoming staff, the place is spotlessly clean. Food is very, very good and served with a smile. The view is spectacular. Free parking in front of the hotel. Room was small but adequate and the bed was very comfortable. Aircon worked a treat
+ great location: few min walk from free parking, few min walk from the beach and restaurants. pharmacy and grocery shop on the same square as the hotel
+ nice staff
+ confortable room, good shower. all clean and well taken care of.
Excellent location overlooking the sea and right on the beach, friendly team in the bar downstairs. Good free parking in the car park next to the hotel, would recommend.
The cosy Little hotel with the High servicelevel and very friendly and helpfull people.
This place we highly recommend because of the location and the above set-up.
Particularly the warm reception on arrival, the attention to detail, excellent breakfast, facilities etc we loved the terraces and the design of the hotel.
