Mana Island Resort & Spa - Fiji, hotel in Mana Island

Featuring 4 bars, 2 restaurants and 2 swimming pools, this beachfront resort offers stunning ocean or tropical garden views from your private balcony or patio.

The resort was beautiful. We stayed in one of the ocean front bures. We stayed in early March so the resort was pretty empty but I'm sure there is a lot going on during their busy season. The staff was friendly and helpful. Leitia and Nino were awesome.

Castaway Island, Fiji, hotel in Mana Island

This Fiji island resort offers an award-winning private island retreat, surrounded by white sand beaches, coral reefs and crystal clear waters.

My husband and I visited Castaway Island with my sister, her husband and their two boys (aged 5 and 6), the main attraction being the Kid's Club - where my nephews enjoyed up to 8 h of planned fun throughout the day. The hotel staff are exceptional - every single person remembers your name and greets you with a genuine smile. Upon arrival and departure, a group of singers and musicians play a welcome/farewell song. During dinner at the patio, you are also treated to great live entertainment. Not too loud so you can converse but loud enough that you can enjoy the music. Breakfast and dinner options were great. The coffee bar and pizza restaurant were also great. The hotel is located in Qalito Island and there are a couple of walks you can do - one up the hill with an option to take a detour down to a secluded beach or a walk around the island during low tide. We were enchanted by the beautiful sandy beaches, the spectacular sunsets and the taste of Kokoda (traditional Fijian fare reminiscent of a coconut-ceviche). We were treated to fresh coconuts throughout our stay. In terms of activities, we went on a little 'outer reef' snorkeling adventure that saw us swimming with turtles - a memory we will treasure. We also enjoyed the on-site snorkeling which was full of life and colors. I would guess we saw at least 60 varieties of sea creatures during our 75 min swim around the hotel - including the dark blue starfish. We also had fun making tie-dye shirts with the boys under the instruction of the Kid's Club Staff. There is a nice shop onsite for everyday essentials, hats, rash guards, bathing suits, snacks, and even postcards and stamps. Many of the families we spoke to are regulars (which makes sense given close proximity to New Zealand and Australia). BONUS - they have a guest room with a bed, sitting room and shower for parties departing later than checkout. So you can still enjoy the beach and have a place to clean up prior to departing.

Plantation Island Resort, hotel in Mana Island

Located in front of a long white sandy beach, Plantation Island offers palm-fringed accommodations in Malolo Lailai’s blue lagoon. The resort features an outdoor pool and massage facilities.

I like that the kayaks and paddle boards and snorkeling stuff was free and also the inflatable for the kids. I also liked that the beach is very long so not crowded. I liked that the were several pools and near food and drinks. That was convenient. You could eat by the pool and staff was nice and welcoming.

Beachcomber Island Resort, hotel in Mana Island

Beachcomber Island Resort is located on a small island off the coast of Viti Levu. This traditional Fijian accommodations offers free WiFi and a range of leisure activities.

Beachcomber is one of those special places you never want to leave. The staff is all amazing and they welcome you onto the island as if you're old friends. It might seem like a pricey place but ALL meals are included and so are the events, like the snorkel boat and fish feeding. We saw geckos every night and some crazy sea life in the tide pools. Beachcomber has this backpacker feel but with fancy bungalows. The best part to me was that there was sand everywhere. Sand in the restaurant, sand in the bar, sand on the dance floor. You can be barefoot the whole time! This is by far our favorite place in Fiji, and we will be back asap.

Funky Fish Beach & Surf Resort, hotel in Mana Island

Located on Malolo Island and boasting a 656 foot private beach, Funky Fish Beach & Surf Resort features a swimming pool, games room and nightly entertainment.

Located right on the beach so it was nice to go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of crashing waves. The price included breakfast, lunch and dinner, but drinks were extra.

Having two beaches is a winner and it’s just a short stroll between both. One for relaxing and sipping cocktails or a drink in the water, kayaking, swimming and snorkeling (though the north beach is way better). Beautiful, easy walks. Staff were wonderful. Buildings are tired, but still fine. Bed was comfortable, water pressure good and there was a safe in the room. The food is very basic and the menu doesn’t change (travel was out of peak season). As a vegetarian it was incredibly limiting and stodgy, my tip is to ask for tofu to be substituted for meat in dishes such as stir fries and nasi goreng. Everything is about 50% more expensive on the island, so if you want treats and alcohol, take them with you! I’d go back.

Having an all inclusive deal with meals was great, you could...

Having an all inclusive deal with meals was great, you could also choose meals at 3 other restaurants(1 has a surcharge), there is a south beach and a north beach, snorkeling is great, friendly staff, great activities set for the week catering for everyone, there is an adults only pool & swim up bar in the main pool a negative was the dated furnishings in the bures and around the resort, things are looking very tired, in the little shop they need to stock things like sunscreen, aloe vera gel & wide brimmed hats things I would say are a necessity on a tropical island & the process at reception to settle peoples bills isn't a smooth process, very frustrating when the cat is waiting at the wharf to depart

On our honeymoon we stayed in room 205 which was a beach...

On our honeymoon we stayed in room 205 which was a beach front Bure. It did not seem real when we walked in. The view from the bed looking out the door was priceless extremely beautiful looking out onto the ocean, with several other island in view. You walk out the back door on to your own private balcony with fold out chairs to lay back on, walk down a five step stair case, onto the beach, and straight out in the water for snorkelling. We just could not believe that we paid under 3000 for unlimited food from 3 different amazing restaurants 3-5 course meals, buffet’s, the whole package. We believe the perfection of the room made the trip, we can’t vouch for any other rooms though (request room 205, trust me). 5 nights were plenty! I think 4 nights would be more than ideal. We slept probably about 10 hours at night and 3 hours during the day because we were so relaxed, especially after planning a big wedding while both work fulltime jobs. Never been so relaxed in our lives. (Photo is on balcony, just outside bedroom door, you can see this view when you are laying on your bed) · The privacy in our room, we realised toward the end of the holiday that you could see in to the bedroom through the thin blinds at night as they were a thin material without any way of covering it up! Need to be fixed ASAP. Alcohol is extremely expensive, $22 for a glass of apple cider! Over $10 for beers cocktails 20 or so dollars. 6 dollars for soft drink. We aren’t big drinkers of alcohol or soft drink so it didn’t both us! Although we did get a complementary bottle of wine on arrival, flowers on the bed and love hearts everywhere.

A beautiful place but a pity that there is so much rubbish left around. Lots of plastic bottles etc washed up on beach’s . Not sure if it’s lack of education but not a good look with piles of partially burnt rubbish in front of homes, rubbish in amongst the trees. This for me ruins what would other wise be a stunning location. The main island of Fiji is of course even worse with polluted waterways.some friends won’t return due to the rubbish and pollution. Unsure if I will.

Everything about this property was amazing. The buffet was plentiful and had a lot to choose from. The location of this resort is perfect, you can swim in clean turquoise waters steps away from your bungalow with beautiful sandy white beach. Our trip was cut short unfortunately due to cyclone Mal so we didn’t get to enjoy everything the resort had to offer. Will have to go back!

The best part about this Resort was the South beach where you could snorkel, kayak, swim and relax. The head Chef, one of the waiters, one of the entertainment staff and the kids club staff were exceptional and very welcoming compared to other staff. They really made the stay enjoyable given the experience we had.
