If you're going skiing, Saariselkä is a good option and you can stay there for a week, for example.
If you are looking for the Northern Lights, maybe 3 nights would be ok, but you you should pray for good weather, with clear skies, and , of course, for the aurora to appear.

Saariselka has everything you need for a winter lapland trip! The ski resort is at walking distance, there are more than three DMC's to chose from when booking trips, there are plenty of restaurants and pubs. THe supermarket is big for a small town and offers all you need. Note that you can't buy wine in the supermarket but there's a small store next to it called Alko where you can pick up a bottle of wine.

It is a small and quiet town. Air is very fresh. Trees with snow on it are very beautiful. You can have many snow activities here. If you stay several days and the weather is good, you may have opportunity to see Aurora.
Bus is very convenient. You can go from Rovaniemi. You can also take bus to Ivalo and Ivalo airport.
Restaurants are very good in this small town.

It is a very beautiful place, but it is expensive.
It is a very beautiful place, but it is expensive. I just stayed for one night in a beautiful cabin. I think that the food is ok and also there could be some more interesting things to in the Hotel do when it gets dark.

You can do many activities - skiing, biking, hiking, relaxing, observing, and enjoying Lapland nature. You have a big chance to see the Aurora Borealis. There is a very comfortable and understandable system of day huts and wilderness huts with essential equipment in and out of the national park — an excellent place for people who love nature.

I was travelling with my sister who is in the wheelchair and there were several walks we could take, though in some we needed help of others, especially in deep downhills. People of Lapland were so friendly and helpful, which added the value of our stay. We were too early to see bright autumn colours and we missed the Northern lights as well, but those things didn't spoil our holiday. Beautiful nature, clear waters, reindeers and Siberian jays, fresh air, not too many travellers, beautiful weather....
Location is close to the entrance in Saariselka coming from the main national road. Very good for cross-country skiing access, but you need to take the ski bus if you are there for the alpine skiing. Everything else is in 10' walk range. Good restaurants and pubs nearby.
Very clean and decent apartment, with all you need for a very comfortable stay. Excellent insulation, very nice electric sauna - very well equipped kitchen. Nice TV and great variety of channels and we watched the winter Olympics :-)
The owners made us feel really welcome and did everything in their power to offer top service. We've asked a cabin with open view to the forest and they made sure it met our expectations. They also surprised us with a gift in the room, once they knew that we were traveling for our wedding anniversary. The room and bathroom are nicely designed and very comfortable ,the whole concept of this hotel is amazing and high quality...Nina and her husband have created a hidden gem in Lapland!
This is a beautiful property, just outside the centre of Saariselka. Upon arrival we found it had everything we could possibly need and more! It was warm, cosy, clean and absolutely perfect for our stay. The sauna was amazing to relax in after being out in the snow all day and the addition of a Christmas tree was a much welcomed bonus! Surrounded by stunning scenery and just a 10 minute walk into town and to the shops etc. We loved everything about it and would 100% stay again!
The Log House is well located in Saariselkä. The interior is actually made of real wood which gives a nice cosy feeling.
Even though it was a surprise the breakfast was not bad at all. It takes place in the cafe in supermarket. There were many options and the staff provided refills when the buffet was running out of food.
The beds have memory foam mattresses and are very comfortable.
This villa offers everything you need for a cozy stay, including a spacious sauna, wood burning fireplace, full kitchen, comfortable beds and a stand-up dryer to handle.not only.your laundry, but to quickly dry your snow gear after a day on the slopes or trails. The bedrooms are actually much bigger than anything we've seen yet in Lapland and have very nice storage space included.
Amazing location with views across Saariselkä from up on a hill - we went in autumn and it was beautiful.
Very cosy rooms with views of the night skies (we were lucky enough to catch the northern lights from our room).
Excellent restaurant and lovely sauna.
Close to a lot of hiking and mountain biking trails.
All in all a wonderful experience - our best in lapland.
Amazing location, and the view suite with sauna is amazing value when compared to the igloo style cabins. Has even a small induction stove top and pans you can cook with if needed. Heated tiles feel great after a long day in the cold. Pillows and bed are comfy. Couch is nice to lounge on and watch TV. Lots of space.
The hotel has an excellent location, cross-country ski trails are 5-minutes walking distance and ski rental is in the same building. The breakfast was great. Also the hotel restaurant and bar were nice and we ended up having all our meals in the restaurant. We were very happy paying a bit more for a room with sauna.
-The experience of being in the middle of nature and experiencing aurora boreal in addition to many other winter activities
-The staff was incredibly friendly and will drop/pick you up anywhere, very accommodating and open to help
-The hotel is efficient and well thought out. We loved having a sauna and jacuzzi
Great value for money. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had a sauna in our room which was excellent. The staff were all friendly. Its in a great location to really explore saariselka. Lots of choice for breakfast, and we had a great buffet meal for dinner.
USuperb place.
Away from Saariselka village. In wilderness.
Perfect placement of the glass roof facing north.
Heavenly view of the sky in the night. Experience of Northern lights was out of this world.
Good food. Must try Sauteed Reindeer.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Amazing apartment with great facilities. Awesome views, Dry and covered parking, Big bathroom with sauna, Kitchen with all basic amenities. Close to all attractions in Saariselka. Very responsible host.
The location was really nice, but I have to put a lot of effort into getting breakfast in the morning since it is far away about 4km away from the hotel, but overall, the hotel was quite amazing!
