What can I say? This was one of the most pleasant surprises I’ve had in years while traveling and staying in different hotels. I’ve never been to such a good 1* hotel.
The quality-price range is unbelievable. You pay a truly fair amount and get absolute comfort, a quiet and well located place with McDonald’s, movie theaters and streets of stores and bars at a 500 meter distance.
The hotel area is quiet after 11pm or so, which provides a good night of sleep. The breakfast can be bought by 5€ and it’s totally worth it as there’s no chance one could eat and drink as much for that amount on any other place for a breakfast in the city.
The room wasn’t the smallest I’ve been, having even a small desk and pretty nice storage as required, and even the bathroom shocked me on how modern and stylish it was.
Surrounded by outstanding natural beauty, this tastefully restored, palatial home is located in the heart of Pontevedra’s Rias Baixas. Guests have free access to the seasonal outdoor pool.

The front desk staff, Valle in particular, were friendly and efficient. The location is right in the middle of the small downtown of Vilagarcia, so more ideal for commercial reasons like dining, shopping or business than for waterfront or beach activities. The garage is difficult to get to in a pedestrian street and very tiny and narrow to drive into its winding ramp, so recommend the big private public parking garage a few blocks away instead.

Villagarcia itself is a small costal town with a port and rail connections. It is a good place to base oneself to visit Galicia and particularly Santiago de Compostella which is easily reached in about 45 minutes by car. There are also interesting costal villages within easy reach as well as National Park.

Vilagarcia de Arousa is a fishing village that has grown up, it now has good restaurants, shoping centre, and the usual main street shops. At the same time it has preserved that friendly atmosphere. The cafe's are welcoming, the food available is a mixture of the excelent local sea food, fish and shellfish, and the normal meat dishes you would get in most places.

We took a chance to explore Spain and try somewhere new. Vilagarcia de Arousa was less commercial than other places - which was great. We got a real authentic feel from the hotel. As non Spanish speakers, we appreciated how the staff at the hotel could accommodate many different languages. The pool was also fabulous. There was a good selection of food on site.
Very nice location at the beach, quick help at the reception - helpful staff in restaurant, bar, etc. Very hospitable people. Nice rooms of good size, clean and modern. Very good breakfast buffet. Free parking under the hotel. Everybody speaks good English or at least tries very hard, which is appreciated. Excellent value for money.
great location, very close to all beaches in Vilagarcía de Arousa and Carril, just few minutes away by walking. Very quesit area with garden view. Close to cafes, taverna, small supermarket and bigger shops. You can basically walk everywhere, incl. city center. Host responsive and helpful.

Comfortable traditional Spanish Hotel. The room was clean with a view of the sea & balcon,. The staff were friendly & attentive. Pool was good with outdoor seating in garden.. Breakfast was great with so much variety, several different types of cake!
The apartment was in a wonderful location on the beach. It was a 10 -15 minute walk on the promenade into Vilagarcia de arousa or there is a bus stop outside. It was a lovely apartment, well equipped and very clean. Would recommend.
Te room was large and the sea view was lovely, right on the beach. There are some restaurants very close to the hotel and a little supermarket 2-3 mins walk away. The breakfast was also excellent and staff were very polite.
I practically NEVER eat in hotels and always look for a restaurant nearby. Here was the big exception! The food in Hotel Carril is excellent, delicious.
