The hotel is beautiful and immaculately kept. The room and bathroom were spacious and well-equipped. The pillow and bed were comfortable and I liked the sitting area and the small balcony. The room was quiet and had a lovely view of the outdoor cafe and garden. The dining room was attractive and pleasant and the breakfast was fine.

For those walking the Camino de Santiago, this small hotel is a good value. I have stayed here twice. The camino passes right outside the front door. Close to a couple of nice restaurants - try Impar on Rua de Princesa. Rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean, with great water pressure in the shower. Also, very quiet at night.

Pontevedra is a must on anyone's list visiting the north of Spain. I have fallen in love with the town and will definitely be back when I can. It is clean and has an old town charm about it and very easy to get around. Loads of history and also enough to keep you busy on an evening for a night filled with tapas and wine. Also, best churros I have ever had.

The people in Pontevedra were lovely.
The people in Pontevedra were lovely. Very friendly & helpful. Food & drink were value for money & always good quality. It feels very ‘Spanish’ & not too touristy. Totally recommend for a mainland stay.

Pontevedra is a very pretty city.
Pontevedra is a very pretty city. The old town area is large and stylish and has all the tourist needs like amazing food and drink places, accommodation, markets and shops and it's been fully pedestrianised. Also is surrounded by amazing beaches and trekking paths.

Pontevedra has a charming old city center, with its two-storied houses and its porticoes. As a pilgrim, I recommend a visit to the cathedral and to the monastery complex, and a casual stroll about the streets. Though I know there is much more to see and to do in Pontevedra besides passing by. There are restaurants for every taste, ranging from fast food and pizzas to the local gastronomy, which is very rich and tasty - the fish and the octopus. If there is one thing I really didn't like (at all), it was the bus station, which looks abandoned. If you must travel by bus, you'd better go directly to the bus parking place and try to find someone to talk to over there - or ask a bus driver.

Pontevedra (and surrounding areas) is a must to visit.
Pontevedra (and surrounding areas) is a must to visit. The food is great, the atmosphere is relaxed - so a great place to go if you want to get away. It has history, culture and the walk along the river is priceless (either for sport or just to relax). The people are great too. Pontevedra is a great city to walk in (you can tell there's been a big push for pedestrians in preference to cars!)

Great city to visit, well of the tourist trail.
Great city to visit, well of the tourist trail. Lots of bars & restaurants, especially in the old city. Did a trip to the Atlantic coast which was well worth the effort. Stunning views out to the islands.
The property was exceptionally clean. And the proprietor was exceptionally responsive. Bottled water, coffee and a bottle of wine (!) were provided, as well as a map of town, etc. The location was great, it was especially good for walking around town. As to be expected, there were stairs which were easily doable; and noise from outside nighttime activity, which didn't stop us from a good sleeping experience.
If we found ourselves in Pontevedra again, you can bet we would seek out this property!
Hostel right beside the train station of Pontevedra, with pod beds which are very comfortable and private. The staff were very sweet and polite. Toilets were clean and shower was warm. Massive kitchen/common area where guests can watch movies and interact, kitchen is very well equipped with pans, large fridges, stovetop and microwave. Very good value for money, I actually stayed on this hostel twice both on my way and after coming back from Santiago
Excellent location. Walkable to everything in Pontevedra. We were racing in a large triathlon and it was easy to get to everything. We heard of other athletes having their bookings cancelled last minute so that their host could re-list at a higher price, but we did not have any issues and we were very grateful. Host communicated effectively and everything went smoothly. Met a few neighbors as we were there for a few days and everyone was friendly.
Very nice small hotel in the old historic center of Pontevedra, just steps from the Camino Portugués. The hotel restaurant was great with a very nice fixed-price menú, and the café/bar was convenient as well. We enjoyed people-watching from our view over the street. Víctor, who greeted us at check-in, immediately made us feel like family and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
Beautifully renovated, everything looks very new and clean. Julio has thought of everything, and even provides towels and shampoo in the shower. I was also super grateful, I accidentally booked for the next night, but Julio was able to accommodate my friends and I anyway. HIGHLY recommend Gloria’s cake at breakfast. Would recommend to any pilgrims or travelers passing through Pontevedra!
This is a family-run business, well located for the camino. It is a bit of a walk to the main centre of Pontevedra. The owners were very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. There is a clothes washer that you can use for 5 Euros. There's also a dryer, and a place to hang clothes. It was good value for the money. I stayed here in 2022, and would definitely stay here again.
We arrived very late due to heavy rain. It’s located at the end of the old town and the start of Camino route. It looks like a castle and rooms r big with big bathroom with a bath tub. The decor is very ancient as the hotel was open in 1928 n I think most of the furniture was from that time. We had a very late dinner n the food was excellent.
The welcome we received and the helpful advice made us feel at home right away. It’s been as tough year for Camino hostels and hotels but the Slow City Hostel made sure our stay in Pontevedra was the best possible. It’s not big, but the shared kitchen and lounge area are a good place to chat with other travelers in comfort.
The hotel was perfectly acceptable for our needs. Clean and comfortable with very helpful and friendly staff. They have reasonably priced parking and the hotel is only 5 to 10 minutes walk from the historical centre. We didn't try the breakfast so cannot comment on that but only because we wanted to eat out.
Really recommended this place for everyone who pay visit to Pontevedra!
The host is really nice and kindly, the restaurant he recommended was excellent!
The bunk bed room, kitchen, sofa area is very comfy and beautiful, everything was well equipped.
We really enjoyed our stay!
Fantastic location within walking distance of all the major sights in Pontevedra. The host was extremely attentive and made us feel genuinely welcome. The apartment was spotless, well-equipped, and more than spacious for my partner and I. Highly recommended!
Since we were walking the Camino the hotel was right on our path. We were pleased that the hotel was close to everything and that we could have a decent breakfast before heading off on the Camino the next morning.
The host Julio is amazing, very friendly and helpful.
The facilities were great, honestly felt more like a very fancy hotel, so far by far the best place I stayed during the Camino, highly recommend.
I was doing the Camino Portuguese and booked this hotel. The hotel room was outstanding. Totally unexpected quality. Super clean and staff was very helpful. Definitely come back to this hotel.
This hotel was my biggest Camino splurge and soooo worth it. After walking with my pack from Pontevedra, they arranged for portage for me. The breakfast is amazing.
Very helpful staff. Hotel spotlessly clean. Room was well appointed and comfortable. A short walk to both train station and old town. Very good value stay.
