We loved every minute of our stay! We were treated with the utmost kindness and care, the owner is the most lovely person we've ever met in a hotel, after so many years of traveling.

It's easy to find along the highway pretty close to the town Cangas de Onís, which is a popular tourist destination and can get quite crowded in the summer, so I liked being close enough to visit easily without having to pay the higher prices and deal with parking and traffic in town. Parking on site was easy, there is a nice view of the river, and there is also an easy walking trail you can take on the far side of the river that is a scenic 30-minute walk to the town, or you can walk along the highway if you want to get there faster. The buffet breakfast in the hotel was really good, it had lots of options and the staff were quick to restock any food that ran out and clear tables to prepare them for the next guests. There were a few tables outside on the terrace, it was really pleasant to eat out there in the fresh air.

San Juan de Parres is a tiny village with a couple of small bars. Howsever everyone drives down in to Canges to Onis, which is 5 mins away and a beautiful little town. It was the historic capital of Asturias and has a lot of history. Its full of delightful restaurants and bars, with a well-attended market on Sundays followed by a dance in the town square after 7pm. Good shopping, with super markets as well as clothes and sports shops (and tourist tat shops!)
