The apartment was the best equipped self catering apartment I have ever stayed in. The hosts were so kind and had made a huge effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The apartment was perfect and very comfortable! I loved that there were two bathrooms. So close to the beach too! Ideal.
Post covid La Cala is quite expensive. If you are looking for a good meal for a good price, it is worth taking a trip to La Cala Hills.
That said we enjoyed our trip and love to see how the village is developing and changing. Some of our favorite places have gone but some other good options have popped up also.

It is a smallish resort with a very nice relaxing atmosphere. There were plenty of varied restaurants of a decent standard to choose from. Good access by cheap bus or taxi to other coastal resorts such as Marbella and Fuengirola.

A charming town close to the airport, only 30 minutes away. Beautiful beach, restaurants and shops by the beach. we enjoyed the walking and cycling path along the beach. People are very friendly, smiling and helpful. In May, the temperature was perfect, we returned home, very tanned and saturated with sunlight. A very good point to visit Andalusia, I recommend Ronda and Calminito del Rey ♥️ We must come back here, there are many places to see!

A lovely coastal working town with a large choice of excellent restaurants, coffee shops and bars. There is a market every Wednesday and Saturday and small stalls in the town during high season. We enjoy long walks along the boardwalk which has numerous places to stop for refreshments and admire beautiful beaches and sea views. Easy access to bus routes to Marbella or Fuengirola. Great facilities for all ages.

Mijas is so beautiful.
Mijas is so beautiful. The beach is lovely the restaurants are lovely and the outside bars are lovely too. We ate at El Olivo and that was a fantastic restaurant. We also ate at Johnny’s and the food and service was so good. There is also a little cafe near the hotel called Sensi Pino Cafe and the tapas were only 2.50 euros for a small plate and the wine was 3 euros. This was a fabulous find but shuts at 4pm. Fantastic value and excellent service. We will definitely be returning

We visited La Cala de Mijas in March so it was fairly quiet and the bars and restaurants closed quite early. It’s a pretty resort with quaint streets and not built up like neighbouring Fuengirola. The sea front is picturesque with an excellent beach. There are some lovely restaurants, we particularly liked Figaro and Bsweet, an excellent bakery, good for breakfast. The resort is well situated and not far from Marbella and Benalmádena, both accessible by bus or taxi.

An amazing property. When we were there the weather wasn’t good but we had a great time. The crazy golf is a bonus as is the heated pool. Easy access by foot to a couple of supermarkets, shops and bars/restaurants. We got the train and then the bus from the airport, the bus stops are right outside the hotel. You can walk to the Dona Lola resort along the boardwalk where there are more bars and restaurants. As we had a late flight we were able to pay for a late check out which was a real plus as it was raining.
Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms very modern and comfortable seating areas both inside and on the balcony.
Definitely a home away from home in a nice quiet location with a lovely pool and sunbathing area. Manager of the property was very helpful and attentive.
Shops, restaurants, beach and pubs are all within easy reach. We also enjoyed long walks on the path towards Marbella and into La Cala de Mijas town.
We were looking for a place near to the La Cala de Mijas music festival and this was an excellent location for that. The property was clean, a decent size, and great for the 5 of us. La Cala de Mijas is not a place we'd ever consider for a holiday so can't really comment about anything else. Apart from a minor misunderstanding on my part, the hosts were excellent and quick to respond to queries.
The beds are so comfortable, the shower is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful and the café attached to the hotel does a great breakfast. The location is perfect...a short stroll to the beach and a wide selection of bars and restaurants. We upgraded to the family suite and was well worth the extra cost. Overall, a lovely experience in Hotel Carmen.
The place it's in a phenomenal location, everything you need is within 5 min walking distance. There's also parking at the facility and a public parking space nearby. The host went above and beyond and went out of his way to make my stay very pleasant. This is truely a hidden gem.
Super spacious apartment with great garden view and also free parking close to the apartment door. Extra pillows, blankets, shampoo and good hairdrayer, all the things you need cooking in the kitchen, AC working properly to heat or to cold. Complimentary wine was also suer nice
Location is very close to Town Centre , Aldi is round the corner.
Pool area has Lifeguard and is well maintained
Property has everything plus more that you would need.
Spacious, lovely decorated, even got some ideas to try at home.
