This is a fantastic place to stay! Sarah is such a wonderful host and she has a wonderful albergue. This is exactly what we were looking for on our Camino. Breakfast was wonderful and reasonable at 6 euros. She has coffee, drinks and snacks for sale as well as a microwave and fridge. The albergue has a beautiful garden with chairs and tables and there is a large and comfortable lounge inside too.

A great little hotel and a perfect stop-over when coming from the ferry in either Santander or Bilbao. I last stayed there in 2018 and unbelievably the price for the room has not changed. The friendly welcome of the family who run the hotel has not changed either. They believe in having a good time with their guests.

The cycle ride to the hotel was unbelievably beautiful. We rode alongside the Ebro river, through tunnels cut out of rock, and reached the dam where the hotel was located. The scenery was just breathtaking. The hotel has seen better days but we enjoyed our stay and the proprietor was very nice. Had the weather been better we would have enjoyed sitting outside by the water's edge.

Hedeso is a small hamlet in the middle of nowhere, if you want peace and quiet in a beautiful rural part of Spain , I would strongly recommend. There are country walks and interesting ancient villages and Castles in the vicinity . If its night life and bars, go to a city such as Bilbao which is an hour and a quarter away.
