We had a lovely stay en route to get the ferry at Ijmuiden. It was the end of our holiday and the first hotel to offer a bath in the en suite (marble!) bathroom - so relaxing!
Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and the waiter very engaging to talk to. Lovely to spend time in an independently owned hotel, where you could see evidence all around you of the generations who had been before and the various family items and photos on display.
Rooms a little dated but still charming. This place is primarily a fine dining restaurant, famous in the area (and very busy)....but obviously has a few rooms (we had 5...but there maybe more). We didn't have breakfast and not sure if they actually do it, but there is a fantastic bakery in the town. The town itself (Mesum) is absolutely lovely - pretty with very friendly people (special mention for the wonderful pub in the centre).
Very cozy and quiet location - lots of room to hang out, play games, and eat together. We were 6 people and slept very comfortably. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware, plates, cups, mugs, and silverware. I would recommend bringing your own knives for food prep. We were surprised with the city of Rheine - it was very pretty and a nice place to walk around.
The breakfast was excellent. It was just a pity that I was in a hurry to catch a train and couldn't take a little longer over it.
Room was quite large, very nice.
On arrival I weas asked if I would like to partake of an evening meal. I did, and it was excellent.

Exceptional city centre hotel. My sister and I stayed for a week while visiting family and the staff could not have been more accommodating especially to my 6year old granddaughter, they went out of their way to make her feel very special. Excellent facilities, breakfast super and everywhere spotless clean. Highly recommend.
Beautiful hotel close to the town. Lovely room with comfortable bed. The lady who looked after us was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble (even unblocking a shower drain!) The breakfast was very nice. We were even allowed to have use of the garage to lock up our motorbike. Highly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful building, the area is steeped in history with ancient buildings and infrastructures at every corner near the hotel.
The people who run it could not have been more pleasant and the breakfast is not only delicious but reasonably priced.

this was my second visit to the cascada , I like the location of the hotel set beside the river ems , the staff are all very friendly and helpful, no problem parking it’s free , the breakfast is extremely good.
