This is a normal post industrial, residential small town...
This is a normal post industrial, residential small town that suffers from an internet marketing campaign selling it as a tourist resort and a winter sports resort. It is not!!. Apart from one hotel with a restaurant and bar on a hill overlooking the town, the town has three restaurants, one shuts mid afternoon, one at 7pm and one claims to shut at 9 but shuts at 7 if they have few customers. Everything is shut at 7. The heavily marketed winter sports facility with ski and toboggan rental advertised opening at 10 am but no-one turned up and the phone number gave an answer machine in Czech saying "we are now closed, phone back later". The lookout tower restaurant and toboggan hire, the main tourist landmark marketed and a 4Km uphill climb, advertised as open (the doors were even open) was closed! We were told "it may be open Friday!". This attitude was apparent everywhere. I think that this "resort" is only aimed at weekend day trippers. They care nothing for people who have travelled there using up their annual leave, time and savings. Or they are victims of a slick, ambitious marketing campaign that they never signed up to.

Beautiful church and old cemetery to visit.
Beautiful church and old cemetery to visit. Interesting history - the place was previously called Morchenstern, a lot of German names there. Make sure you trek to Devil's Den (Certova Komora), its straight out spooky if you know the legend. The for seemed to stick specifically to that spot and never left even on a bright day. Lots of hiking trails for different levels around and ski in the winter. Have to mention breathtaking views and clean air. Grocery shopping and restaurants are within 10 min drive. Amazing views from the train travel. Easy to get around by car as well.
Standard buffet breakfast, very friendly staff, restaurant food was really delicious for the price.
Overall this hotel is really nice, but a small fridge in the room would be nice.
Plenty of parking space. Location is really nice to close ski centers.
