The location was a bit difficult to find, as we had to drive on a street that didn't look like a street and was not marked. The photo from the listing helped us to identify the property. The house was light and airy and nicely furnished. The swimming pool was just right after a day of traveling. Large backyard with furniture and grill. Close to the beach.

The location is a great place to relax providing a huge shaded area under a tree with hammocks and swings and a walking trail. The kitchen is fully equipped and easy to use. The spacious bedroom and separate kitchen area provide many options for seating. We appreciated being able to do laundry. The host Ana is very friendly and responsive.

I booked a return flight to New Jersey after just 4 hours at the resort. The accommodations were filthy, food was disgusting, and the bars were never tended by anyone. It was the biggest vacation disaster I've ever experienced. I slept with the lights on because I was hoping it would scare the bugs into the walls (which were crumbling and had large holes). The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in several months and there was mold on the light fixture, the curtains, and the walls. Beach was also a bust - littered with driftwood and debris.

I would avoid this resort if you are not a native, it's really a resort for the locals. Food is not good, lines are long, 80% of the Staff are unfriendly and don't really want to be there. Locals are not as friendly compared to other places and the managers seem like thugs just raking in the money and could care less if you liked your stay there or not. Managers just see you as a walking dollar sign.
P.s whoever responds to my negative reveiw don't bother because we all know you don't really care so save your typing.

There isn't much to see in El Roble, we just stayed in the hotel and enjoyed the food, pool and beverages. The beach is't nice, if you want beach mabe other places are better, if you go for the hotel and to be close to San José, it's fine.

I enjoyed the nightly shows the most and breakfast and lunch was our favorite. Didn’t like that there wasn’t a swim up bar from the pool. Also didn’t like that the resort didn’t shuttle to and from the airport and it’s a long drive from the airport. We had to rent a car. The activities should’ve also included English it was all done in Spanish .
The staff is more than friendly, the entertainment is professional (games by the pool, music/karaoke events from sunset, show performance in the evening). Breakfast, lunch and dinner are vary and abundant, snacks and drinks are also tasteful, the cocktails are not strong, but have to be consumed cautiously in the sun. Internet works perfectly and free everywhere in the hotel's area. There is a pool just for adults!:)
The hotel has 4 pools, 1 for adults only, the main pool, a premium pool, and a kids pool.
The shows at the hotel are amazing! Due to COVID-19, they had 2 functions, at 8 PM and 10 PM, they are in Spanish.
The cocktails are great but I felt that they had a lot of sugar syrup.

There is always something to do in the hotel, and there are activities for all the days.
it was the only hotel in the location we needed as were passing through from southern Costa Rica to northern.

Fairly standard all inclusive resort. Nice pool, and right on the edge of the beach. Good food, friendly staff. About a 3 star hotel for the rooms, which are a bit dated. No major complaints, was as expected.
