the hotel is ok, public areas are in good condition, now the rooms look old, and not very close to the pictures on website. Price is high for such a small room.

The beaches to the south of Santa Marta, and those near Tayrona National Park, are gorgeous. The town of Santa Marta, itself, is a big, noisy, dirty town and I've been told the beaches aren't great. But I stayed at Bello Horizonte and then at a hostel south of Rodadero and the beaches were great.

I stayed in areas between the airport and Santa Marta.
I stayed in areas between the airport and Santa Marta. I am glad I didn’t stay in the city, it is big and dirty. But the surrounding areas I stayed in, Bello Horizonte and just south of Gaira, had lovely calm beaches.
The bus drivers were mostly very kind but a few of them must have had to pass a stupid test or were just plain mean, as I often was unclear as to where to get off, and some ignored requests for help.

So many homeless people defacating and urinating in every corner. Constantly bothered for money and food. During the nights approached by underage prostitutes in front of ineffective police. The cigarette sellers openly offer cocaine and other drugs and the noise from the bars competing with each other is just plain ridiculous. Extremely disappointed to find that all the beautiful pictures are of beaches only accessible by boats and 4WD vehicles meaning you pay through the nose to get to them.and get herded everywhere in groups. If you want natural beauty on the Caribbean… go to Tolu.

We were expecting a beautiful beach with sunbeds, but it didn´t look very appealing to spend time there, so we had to go to Rodadero instead, it is of course crowded there, but the beach is nicer. The service is unfortunately not better and we also couldn´t find sunbeds at the beach, just chairs and the price was exagerated
Incredible details throughout the entire property. Much larger than expected, with so many gardens and beautiful decorations. It felt like we were in a boutique, and the pool was very clean! Breakfast (included) was big and delicious, and the beds were very comfortable! Generous sized room, hot water in showers, and only 15 minutes drive to Taganga/ Playa Grande. This was our 14th hotel in Colombia on a two month trip and our favorite - very family-friendly yet quiet and serene.
The location of the hotel is superb just at the centre of Santa Marta old quarter. Plenty of bars, restaurants and nightlife options within 1 minute walk. Modern chick design, tiny indoor pool and a roof terrace to chill out. Served breakfast is a tasty colombian standard: eggs, fruits, juice, corn cake (arepa) and coffee. Rooms are modern basic and clean. The staff is helpful. Good choice for short stays or for city and party lovers. Recommended.
I highly recommend Hilton Santa Marta, the staff all along the hotel was extremely polite and helpful.
The room service was really good. The food was always amazing.
The rooftop bar with a superb chill atmosphere, great music, delicious finger food, an infinity swimming pool and a stunning view to the ocean and the mountains.
Outstanding service from Kevin the bartender at the Rooftop Bar Sikunu.
The best hotel in Santa Marta, The hotel is recently remodeled and the taste in every detail of the room makes it very cozy. its location is perfect, in the heart of the city to enjoy the best restaurants and bars in the city, we were able to take advantage of to walk and see the beautiful architecture of the city.
The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as best as possible!
This is a great little hotel in the heart of the casco viejo. There's a busy shopping street half a block away with everything you could and it's a short stroll to all the sights. Wonderful breakfast and very friendly staff that are always around to help. Rooms have a/c (a must on the coast!) and hot water (not common in Colombia). Be sure to say hello to the friendly hotel cat!
Although downtown Santa Marta is not the nicest place ever, the hotel was very close to everything you could need, restaurants, banks, supermarkets, etc. I stayed here one night because the market where you take the buses to Tayrona is super close. If your purpose is to rest in Santa Marta for an affordable price and bound for Tayrona the next morning then this is your hotel.
The room was very nice: big, super clean and comfortable. I do not think there is a better location in Santa Marta than Parque de los Novios where the hotel is located. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is cocked very well, but the amount and options were not even close to what I expect from a 5 star (this is often the case in Colombia, though). Good WIFI.
It was really nice to have parque de los novios so close, we loved our walks in this area. I've been many times to Santa Marta and I can say Origo's Peruvian restaurant is a jewel, the rabo anticuchero is simply amazing. Muchas gracias to Alvaro who welcomed us in late at night on our way back to the hotel.
The hotel exceeded my expectations. The best place we stayed so far in Colombia. Only thing was that the wifi cable broke exactly on the day we arrived so we had bad wifi during our stay, but it isn't hotel's fault, they tried to fix it asap so I have excluded rating wifi this time.
Great staff, friendly, and professional. My wife and I had a great time and we felt the hotel was perfect for couples. I am not sure about big families but if you are looking for a place, romantic, and beautiful to spend time with you special one, this is your place in Santa Marta.
the whole hotel was very nicely designed. rooms were generously sized and very comfortable. staff were very helpful, including helping us sort some other accommodation when we were ill as this hotel was fully booked. the hotel is right in the centre of Santa Marta
This is a modern little hotel right in the historic center of Santa Marta. The staff were all very friendly, from the front desk attendants to the housekeeper to the restaurant waitress upstairs. The bed was very comfortable too. The bathroom was enormous.
The boutique hotel was located directly on the beach between the airport and Santa Marta town. it was cute as a button with secluded area of swimming pool, jacuzzi and outdoor massages. All the staff were friendly and attentive.
Small hotel 15 minutes walk from Gaira beach. Easy 30 minute bus journey to Santa Marta. Very friendly and helpful staff, a good pool and terrace. Nice Square outside hotel for food and drinks in the evening.
The hotel is very beautiful, the rooms spacious and the bed was the most comfortable of Colombia! The rooftop is the most beautiful of Santa Marta! The staff was very nice and courteous.
My favourite hotel in Santa Marta. Yes, it's basic, but the staff is awesome, room is quite spatious, the area is great (it's right in the center, one block away from the main beach).
A good budget hotel with very welcoming hosts. A short walk from all points of interest in Santa Marta. The area seemed safe even at night time. Good wifi.
