Casa Xue had only been open for a month when we stayed so we weren't sure what to expect but it far exceeded our expectations! The location is beautiful and very easy to access from the public bus (which can let you off right in front of the driveway at Mile 36 if you're coming from Santa Marta). The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed (refrigerator, balcony, AC). The staff was very attentive and welcoming. The thing that really pleasantly surprised us was how exceptional the food was! We ate 5 meals here and they were all delicious. We even asked for sandwiches to go when we were leaving because we knew it would be better than anything on the road. Since there is only one person cooking at each meal time, the food does take a while but this actually ended up being lovely because we chatted with other guests from all over the world while we waited and enjoyed tasty cocktails.
Offering a beach area, outdoor pool, and restaurant, Villa Maria Tayrona, Jungle and Sea Experience is located in Los cocos, 1.2 mi from Piedras River.

This hostel was amazing. Friendly staff. Beautiful open air private room. A little tough to adjust to sleeping in the open so keep that in mind when booking. Family dinners were amazing. Pool sunsets with happy hour was so fun. Good music playing, not too loud. Perfect place to stay. Mini mart right next door. 20 min walk to Tayrona National park entrance.

What a great eco-lodging experience! Unique cabanas open on the sea with incredible views! Excellent food at the restaurant. The terrace of the dining room has a spectacular view on the rio (you can see caimans) and on the sea. Staff very helpful, and bilingual (not so frequent in Colombia). Great massages at the spa on site. The pool is super pleasant. Perfect location for visiting the Tayrona National Park, only a 5 min drive away.

Everything was perfect. It’s like living in a treehouse! Very close to the park, 2 minutes walk from a gorgeous beach. Andres and Mila and all of the staff were perfect. We were very sad to leave.
The best hostal in Tayrona!!! Great small cozy and confortable hostal in the middle of the nature with great views. The room was spacious with a great bed and a private bathroom, great view to the mountains and quiet in the night. I will definitely be back soon. Delicious coffee and pancakes for breakfast. Its 8 minutes walking from the road and 15 minutes walking to the beach los cocos.

Proximity to Tayrona really good - El Zaino entrance and walks. Other destinations a longer taxi ride (such as Minca) but all manageable.
Property itself is lovely. Immaculate, spacious and a very good food offering. Delightful service.
Nice pool and lots of space around to take in diffract views. Only negative is the weak shower pressure (cabana 1).
Easy drop down to beach and sea - and very atmospheric bar for sundowners.
Pretty much perfect

Liked: Came here in October 2021 and returned mainly because the place is absolutely beautiful. The view is stunning, you're in the middle of nature and wherever you look there are amazing birds or giant trees.
Disliked: During our five day stay, the water was cut three times and electricity went out twice (this didn't happen last year). Also, almost every night a noisy water leakage would start under the cabin and the last night there was a hydraulic motor-bomb malfunction nearby, very noisy as well. Every time I called the administration and they responded in good will, sometimes being able to help and sometimes not. But these issues are clearly the result of long-term poor management, and there is only so much the on-site staff can do.
Also, the hotel sells the idea of being able to offer good wi-fi: nothing could be further from the truth. Wi-fi is extremely unstable. You can go hours, even days without connection. So this is not a good place to go if you require a stable internet signal. I went with the idea of working remotely and had a negative experience in that department.
This said, it wasn't a horrible couple of days, but I'll be looking elsewhere for my next trip.

Los naranjos is a huge place where the jungle merge with the beach, divided by a river that can be crossed wslking when the tide is low, aligators are the puppies of the area and althought they look dangerous they only like to take a sunbath, they are afraid of humans, but dont test this, keep away from them and enjoy, the beach have different walking access, explore them all.

This was a mixed bag.
This was a mixed bag. On the upside, the restaurant was really fantastic and the view from the deck chairs, overlooking the beach, was just stunning. The room was clean and the restaurant staff were friendly. That said, the photographs of the rooms are misleading, as the rooms are actually really really dark, with just a few dim lamps providing a little bit of light. The “sea view” from the room that is pictured in the snaps is also not really anything. You can barely see the water. When we told the front desk staff that this was not what they were advertising, they said they would "be back to discuss" and then never showed up. Since it was only one night, we decided to just stick it out. Also, at this price, it seems like the hotel could have hot water in the showers. Oh, and our room was next to the kitchen so we were woken up early with noise from the staff, blender, etc.
We loved Casa Barlovento! The views are incredible, the layout of the hotel allows for a lot of privacy. The pool is fantastic and the access to private beach down below is really incredible. It’s a wonderful location to spend the day relaxing.
The rooms were clean, the staff were very friendly. The food was delicious and we had all that we needed.
There are comments about “slow service” but when we asked to eat at a certain time, they were glad to accommodate. Just need to plan ahead, as they do not have 24/7 kitchen.
It was very cool and adventurous stay at Cabana Barlovento. The rooms are open - without windows, directly above the Caribic sea, so you can really feel it and also hear it! The surroundings is really beautiful - there are around 5 hotel buildings in this complex, restaurant, bar and the pool. The beach was also very nice for relax although the waves are mostly big and the streams very strong, so be careful. The food was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. We can recommend this place.
This is one of the most unique, spectacular hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The views are breathtaking, it’s SO peaceful and relaxing. There is so much wildlife to see, you can spend hours just admiring the grounds. The staff were amazingly attentive and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. Food was good! There’s a great beach bar a couple of minutes walk away for cocktails and tacos. We did the cacao tour which was amazing and also a yoga class one morning. Would 10000% stay again
Location overlooking see and river. The sound of the ocean 24/7 was a new experience for us. Located next to a couple of other boutique hotels where we could eat or use the spa, so some good variety. Very convenient for access to Tayrona National Park.
All the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful throughout our stay - especially accommodative my partner’s dietary requirements.
We twice had yoga classes on site with Halie who was an amazing instructor.
This is the perfect hotel if you want to visit Tayrona. Great price/quality. It is very welcoming, warm and accommodating, thanks to Patricia and her staff. Rooms are spacious, the pool is nice and the restaurant is absolutely great! The kitchen staff know how to prepare the best meals for a very reasonable price. Also the bus to the entrance of Tayrona stops in front of the hotel and it takes only 5 minutes to get to the entrance.
Words or photos can not adequately express the experience at Casa Toyrona Los Naranjos. Walking up the stairs to the pool area for the first time took our breath away, truly magical!
Dinner was awesome, and the people were great! Everyone was very helpful.
We only spent one night and left for Tayrona Park early the next day but we definitely plan on going back here.
It was the most impressive place we have ever been to!
Amazing beach just 5 min walk. The sea is ruff like everywhere on that coast, so one should be very careful while going into water.
The hotel garden is very nice. The owners are friendly. The food is good. It is a bit uphill, but you will be rewarded by great views
they charge extra 15% for the card (but are accepting it, because some hotels dont)
This boutique hotel is amazing. Its an oasis of relaxation. You wake up with the sounds of nature.
Everything is high quality: the furnishings, the food, the service.
The pool is immaculately clean and the beach is 5 min away by foot. They offer a lot of extra activities without pressure to buy.
We were really happy and will definitely come back!
I CANNOT reccomend this hotel enough.
The chefs are not just super talented but incredibly friendly too, the view is out of this world, the rooms are spacious and they have a private beach which will forever be the most magical place I have ever watched a sunset. This place was the true highlight for our trip to Colombia!
This Boutique Hotel shares common grounds with Maloka Barlovento Hotel and Casa Barlovento! access to the beach and Cliff bar is a fabulous experience! Location and staff were absolutely marvelous! A great and rewarding beautiful place to unwind after Hiking with my family the Tayrona lost City for 5 days.
The staff was the best we saw in our 2-week Trip to Colombia (out of 6 hotels). The pool areas and private beach are perfect to relax and the access to Park Tayrona is relatively easy. Also our room was quite comfortable and had the perfect view to the ocean. It was really a great experience.
The place is just incredible! In a very beautiful part of the jungle and just 10 mins to the beach which is totally amazing and not crowded. Also the hotel staff is super friendly and helpful! Special recommendations for the amazing restaurant! Loved every meal! Will definitely return!
Beach view was beautiful from our bungalow. Staff was very friendly. Grounds were very nice, very jungaley. The staff was helpful in guiding us on what to do/ booking a driver, etc. The food was pretty good and the staff at the restaurant were very nice and attentive.
Had an incredible time at Hotel Isabella. The staff found out it was my birthday and surprised me with a brownie and candle to celebrate. Made it an exceptional time.
The ceviche here was also very very good.
We felt at home, Maria the owner and her staff were very cordial and attentive to our requests! very close to an excellent restaurant, five minutes from the beach and everything very quiet and safe
The staff was very friendly, kind and accommodating. The beach is a 2 min. walk away. The restaurant is right above the hostel! The food is delicious! You must try the cassava croquettes! Yummmmmm
Very friendly owners. Breakfast was good. The pool is amazing best view compared to other hotels in the area, room was clean. ( for dinner go across the road to casa Isabella)
Super welcoming and attentive staff - they were really taking care of their hotel guests.
The food was absolutely delicious. We tried all the local dishes on their menu.
