Property is in a great location. It had the main building and then another across the street. Who place had AC high was very needed with the heat. Loved the lounge/bar area on the first floor and rooftop. Whole place was very clean and the staff were very helpful. Seems like they had plenty of activities to offer.
My room was very spacious, had a very large bed, AC, and a balcony.

Colourful and historic, modern and colonial, local and touristic, Cartagena de Indias represents one of the liveliest Colombian beach resorts. Its character mixes cultures and peoples, including natives, Spanish, African and Arab. Its rich legacy granted its Old Town the recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When the Spanish founded the city in 1533, the region had already been inhabited for thousands of years. It became an important port for the Spanish gold and a significant political centre. Echoes of those times can be seen throughout the historic centre, in the city walls, the San Felipe de Barajas Castle, and the colourful streets and colonial squares. Some of the best hotels in Cartagena de Indias can be found here.
Proudly Caribbean, Cartagena’s soul gives the rhythm to the streets, and the music coming out of cafés and restaurants is nothing but a physical manifestation of its collective spirit. Cartegena has so much culture and history. The food was fantastic! There is live music in every restaurant and bar. Traditional dancing can be found in the squares and you just need to tip. Just be aware of all the street hustlers, especially the rappers who will follow you. The old town comes alive after 8pm. Be prepared for the 90-100% humidity during the mid-day. It is best to site see early in the morning or evening and siesta or pool lounge during the mid day.

The beaches are good, and provide a diversion (or a primary reason to go, if you are young) and a completely different atmosphere.

Lots to do if you work with local tourist agents.
Lots to do if you work with local tourist agents. Leave the area and go to Baru for glowing plankton or boats to Rosario archipelago. Old town. Watch out for street vendors selling trinkets and being too pushy.

A lot of great food options, best seafood in Colombia.
A lot of great food options, best seafood in Colombia.
Our favorites:
- La Cevicheria
- La Mulata
- Cafe del Mar ( bit pricey for what it is, but worth it for the sunset drinks )
- El baron ( great tapas in the middle of the square )
Town with a rich history and lots of important landmarks and sights to visit. Great colonial architecture, colorful streets and lively people.
It is very touristic, with a lot of locals non stop trying to sell/push tours/restaurants and goods on the street, felt a bit like India sometimes. There are great street performances of dance groups and artists happening, which i enjoyed a lot though!

Great place to visit as long as you don't mind being harrassed non stop by street vendors trying to sell you hats, cigars, sunscreen, tchotchkes and other things, having menus constantly thrown in your face or being honked at by multiple cab drivers if you stop on a sidewalk for even a second wanting to know if you need a ride. Everything worth seeing in Cartagena can be seen in one day, two tops if you want to see some places out side the city

The host was very informative about everything which I really liked, the hotel was really nice and clean, same as our room, the views were spectacular from our room. Security was on top of everything making sure we were good with everything. We walked to the historic city which was about 15-20 min walk from the hotel which wasnt bad at all. Even though theres a shopping mall right next door with theres also a convenient store exactly 1 block behind the hotel, which was really good to know. I highly recommend this place if you visit Cartagena.
We absolutely loved this hotel, during our 3 weeks travelling through Colombia it was by far the best hotel we stayed in.
- the decor is lovely, very Mediterranean
- all of the staff were all so attentive, kind and just couldn’t do enough for you
- they made fresh juice everyday which was a really nice touch
- breakfast is great
- the owner, Louis was so lovely and very helpful. he spent a lot of time advising us and making sure our stay was the best it could possibly be
- the terrace is beautiful, make sure you experience it!
The staff all around (Aldolfo, in particular, I believe was his name) is amazing. Everyone is kind, very courteous, and helpful. The hotel staff arranged for a PCS Covid test for me at the hotel prior to my departure. And that went well. There was always good amenities (pool area, full breakfast, towels and bathroom items).
Location is superb. A few blocks walking from Old Town and Getsmania areas where the nightlife is at. Wonderful historic plazas and buildings all around, a real old colonial feel.
Very friendly Staff that makes everything possible for you. Also the food and the drinks are really really good. Rooms are big and nice, especially the bathrooms. Still, we found it too expensive - it’s not a five star hotel as known from Germany, rather a good 3 star Boutique Hotel - but: in Cartagena everything is far too expensive compared to the rest of the country.
The location is perfect for everything in the old town, we felt really safe.
Thanks to David and everyone!!!
The decor of this hotel is amazing. I've visited Cartagena before and love the vibe of these small boutique hotels. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was super helpful in obtaining reservations for us throughout our stay, brokering the charter of a boat, and we even ate dinner from the hotel restaurant in a private room one night. The breakfast was perfect and there was a lot of variety. We visited in a group of 8 and we all absolutely loved our stay.
I came from Medellin and this hotel really leans into the Spanish Colonial vibe. It's an older structure, so sound from outside the building doesn't carry. The ceilings are immense so the rooms are quite cool despite Cartagena's relentless heat. There is a small pool in a garden for relaxing.
The iguana door knocker made me smile.
It was easy wandering the streets of the old city. I just had to look for that dumb iguana to make sure I made it back.
Such a lovely hotel. Loved how close it was to the airport. Beautiful views and great drinks! The buffet was decent but for the price I don't think one could expect too much more. There were not too many shops or restaurant options near by. We needed groceries and had to go to the old city, a 10 minute taxi. Staff were always helpful. Kids had a great time at the park and games room. Very close to the beach and amazing active community. Totally safe!
Prime location within the old city. Every street we took seemed to place us back at the hotel without even trying- that’s how central it was to the action. That being said, if you don’t like the action/nightlife, it can be a lot. I slept with ear plugs provided by the hotel, and they worked well. Breakfast got me out of bed every morning; they had yummy continental and Colombian offerings. I would happily recommend this hotel!
Location was excellent, but was also the only drawback. Gaiety in the street outside until well after midnight. Trinity Church plaza nearby was home to Indian folk festival, terrific breakdancing. Restaurants, art galleries, street food all close at hand. Total fun. Easy walk to Old City.
Yolanda and Gladys steered the ship magnificently.
THE HOTEL IS A CLASSIC IN CARTAGENA. HIS OLD FASHION MODE IS REALLY COOL FOR A PLACE THAT IS FULL OF HISTORY AND TRADITION LIKE THIS HOTEL. THE ROOMS SHOULD BE SOMELIKE REFURBISHED SPECIALLY THE AIR CONDITIONER A LITTLE BIT NOISY . THE STAFF IS VERY ATTENTIVE AND THE OPEN AREAS AROUND THE SWIMINGPOOL ARE VERY ENJOYABLE AND BEATIFULL .
Excellent customer service from day 1 to day 7. The rooms are excellent and the front desk was very attentive of our requests throughout the stay. Greta breakfast and the hotel is one block from the beautiful beach of Cartagena. Price was really good for the location and amenities of this hotel. Lo recomiendo.
A good hotel like a Hilton needs to be, Big room with comfy beds. Good cleaning of the room. More than a good breakfast for Colombian standards. Friendly staff and clean hotel. Nice bar and restaurants and a really good pool, private beach, and pool bar with a lot of good food on the menu.
The location was good. The breakfast was at least decent. One of the receptionists was really nice, he even gave me some cash (I deposited US dollars so he could borrow me Colombian Pesos). Because due to the incident with the hotel safe I was not able to get my credit card back.
We had stayed inside the city walls for 3 nights and chose to stay in this hotel for 2 nights sun & R&R before moving on from Colombia. The hotel is nice and has a really good restaurant. We had breakfast once and lunch twice - each meal was delicious.
We really liked our stay. The staff was so friendly! We loved the location of the hotel since that we could walk to most points of interest in the old city. The king size bed was so comfortable! We loved the rooftop terrace overlooking the city.
Pros: Clean, good AC, good location, wifi worked good, good price. All around a good hotel for the price. Had lots of plans for Cartagena and really only needed a good clean hotel to sleep and Ibis was it. very good value for the price.
Staff was superb, excellent breakfast, and just a beautiful hotel - the terraces and the pool were fabulous and a great way to relax on our last day in Cartagena. It's a short walk into the old city but along a pretty busy road.
Perfect location - next to the castle, 15 min walking distance to the old city. Modern hotel. Tasty food. Pool on the roof with great view. Comfortable bed and pillows. Clean bathroom. Shopping mall nearby.
Everything ! It is The best boutique hotel in Town. With so many comforts and luxurious decoration. The location is perfect for discovering the city and the breakfast was really copious.
