Such a peaceful and lovely little property. The rooms were very small but immaculate. The loft upstairs is such a wonderful place to chill and look out over the city. The breakfasts were amazing and the staff were kind and helpful. Thank you!

The rooms are spacious with tall ceilings and they are very clean! Of all the places we stayed in Chile, the attention to cleanliness here was the best. Breakfast was standard: meat, cheese, bread and eggs, with juice, yogurt, pastry, and basic fruit. We appreciated that the breakfast room was always available for hot drinks and we enjoyed relaxing the in the guest lounge. The hotel took care of our laundry (for an extra fee) which was greatly appreciated!

GORGEOUS view of Punta Arenas from the room. It was such a lovely stay in a historical building nestled right on top of the hill - just a couple of steps away from the observatory area.

gorgeous little seaside town. it's a nice respite if you're doing some serious hiking up in torres del paine, and i'd definitely spend a day or two walking around the main street and by the seaside.

It really is only a place to go to other better places in Patagonia. The restaurant scene is not great and there’s really not much to do there. I’d say use it as a place to stay overnight to go somewhere else but if you do don’t expect to find any great options for food or entertainment.

A great (very windy) city at the end of the world.
A great (very windy) city at the end of the world. Close to breathtaking scenery (Tierra del Fuego, Torres del Paine) and historical sites. The city felt secure. The fish market offers amazing good value dishes (no vegan options:(). There are good walks close to the city (a national park 15 minutes by car). Punta Arenas is easy to navigate on foot if the weather permits - the wind can bowl you over!!!

Punta Arenas is a nice town.
Punta Arenas is a nice town. But don't expect too much of it. It has really fantastic, great coffee places. And very good restaurants, actually it is amazing that there are so many nice restaurants and so many great coffee shops in such a small town. Apart from that, it is a small town. Don't get me wrong: it is the *town* to be if you want to be at the Strait of Magellans!

Punta Arenas had more to do than I expected!
Punta Arenas had more to do than I expected! I had heard from others that it was a sleepy residential town, but we enjoyed walking along Playa Colon, walking up to Mirador Cerro de la Cruz, shopping for handmade gifts at the Municipal Artesanal Market, petting the community dogs at the Plaza de Armas, touring Cerveceria Austral (reservations needed in advance), going on one of the penguin and sea lion tours, and eating authentic classic Chilean food at La Marmita restaurant. If we had more time, we would've visited some of the nearby museums to learn more about Magellan's sail through the strait. We loved that Ubers were quick and plentiful but that the town was very walkable just about anywhere.

The center of town is quite a distance from the airport.
The center of town is quite a distance from the airport. Punta Arenas is good for a jumping off point to explore Patagonia. For birders, there is a great e-Bird hot spot just out of town towards the airport.
A very cosy, comfortable apartment in a good location to walk to central Punta Arenas. There is a well-stocked tienda / bakery and an excellent pizza place on the next block, and the supermarket is three or four blocks away. The apartment was warm, the wifi worked well and the kitchen had modern appliances which worked perfectly. The shower was hot with good water pressure - much needed after being in the wilderness for a while. The hosts were contactable, friendly and helpful with everything.
Mauricio, the host, is extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel is delightful. Everything is made of wood and tastefully decorated. It's warm, comfortable, and cosy.
It's less than a 10 minute drive from the airport, and Mauricio will pick you up or drop you off there any time you need. If you need to go to Punta Arenas, you can easily order an Uber. Central Punta Arenas is only about a 15 minute drive from the hotel.
Highly recommended!
The hotel was quite interesting. It's an gorgeous, older building (though it seems to have been remodeled and kept up well). In a nearby restaurant, we saw a painting of the hotel from an earlier time. The staff at the hotel were very helpful in pointing us to a shop that could help us with a phone problem. I wish we had stayed more than one night, as there were other things we would have done in the area (like see condors).
Nice private room and bathroom has hot water! The kitchen is big enough and they provide free coffee/tea. It is not a hotel or hostel, but literally a little house for different people so take that into account. The owner is also really nice, he even let me stay a little longer for the day and drove me to the harbour when it was time to go. He also wanted to give me a tour of Punta Arenas, very nice guy.
The hotel owner, Pedro, is a great person. A very friendly and helpful music enthusiast.
We were lucky that there was even a concert at Saturday night during our stay. The atmosphere was extraordinary, just like the skill set of the band “Jazztick”. Chilenos seemed to love live music. We were the only foreigners and had a great time there.
The location is very good--close to the Buses Fernandez station and the scenic overlook, and just a short walk to downtown Punta Arenas. My room was quite large and clean. The proprietor Gustavo is absolutely wonderful! He's very responsive, helpful, and kind, and he offered to prepare breakfast earlier than 7am if I needed it.
The property is well equipped, comfortable and very clean. The apartment is a short walk from the centre of the city, with a pizza place and sushi bar a 1 minute walk away. The owner is lovely and speaks perfect English.
The property is gated which meant we felt safe - not that you feel unsafe in Punta Arenas mind you!
The staff were excellent. Late check-in was not an issue, and arrangements were made for a ahuttle from the airport that was very reasonable cost wise. It is very centrally located and near Bus Sur, which was convenient for traveling on to Torres del paine. It was a great spot to spend one night.
The Location is bit far away from Centre, but it doesn’t matter since Punta Arenas is not a Big city. You have a Market right in front of Hostel and it opens till eleven P.M also Mirador located on hill can be Access in Ten minutes of Walk. staff is really good and he can speak English.
Well located hotel nearby a beautiful square. If you like experiencing historical buildings, it is a nice place to stay.
Large bathroom with a very good shower!
There are plenty of options of good restaurants in a walking distance (10 min away).
I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel.
What a great first night in Chile! I was welcomed with such warmth. My room was quiet, bed was comfy, bathroom was down the hall, lots of hot water. Breakfast was just what I needed. Location was on a quiet street within walking distance on the waterfront and downtown.
location was perfect and the cleanest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Right next to the bus stop and the restaurant okusa next door is the best restaurant I’ve been to in Chile.
