The boat tour with Iceberg Quest company. Great captain and crew. Made sure we saw whales although distant, and as a bonus we also saw orcas close up. Very friendly, helpful crew. We’re able to book last minute which was great. No iceberg in August.
Enjoyed eating at Annie’s on the deck by the water. It was our ‘go to’ place in Twillingate
Visited the lighthouse but staff are not very enthusiastic about providing info here. It seemed overpriced to me given how little info it provided. It was a sharp contrast with the Bonavista lighthouse, where the staff was knowledgeable and happy to share information.
However we still enjoyed our visit there. Bathe lighthouse area and walking paths are great. So worth visiting just for that. I would not pay to visit the lighthouse tower.
We enjoyed the dinner theatre. A great fun evening! It was fully booked but the friendly people there were able to find a small table for us and we were very great full. Lobster dinner was great and the entertainment very lively and lots of fun. Price very reasonable.
There are some nice local craft shops in Twillingate that we discovered by walking around the town. We found unusual wool carvings for family gifts.
Many paths that we did not have time to walk through. Instead we drove around a loop where we stopped at every cove and discovered a unique little world in each of them and some friendly people.
I would recommend going to Twillingate earlier in June or early July for the chance of seeing icebergs. We were there early august and the icebergs were gone.

My husband and I, and our dog, had a wonderful time.
My husband and I, and our dog, had a wonderful time. All the people we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The boat tour was remarkable and the cafe owner kept an eye on my dog while we were on the boat tour. I can't thank him enough. It wasn't easy to get around as many things didn't show up on our GPS, but we found out-of-the-way, pleasant villages.

Many icebergs of all sizes, close and far.
Many icebergs of all sizes, close and far. Whales had not really arrived in great numbers, but others saw a few. Many restaurants are CASH only, or debit card. Doyle Sansome and sons, was the best food. D&T restaurant had very fresh mussels, rest of the food was so so. Annie's restaurant will not see us as return clients. Staff was very noisy and not very friendly. Bacon wrapped scallops were over cooked. Go to the Far Point Lighthouse and have a chat with Jonathon White in the Whites Emporium. Overall the people were fantastic and warm and welcoming.

On a sunny evening, it is probably the best spot in town.
On a sunny evening, it is probably the best spot in town. The deck overlooks the harbour and you can watch the sunset from there. Absolutely glorious. My first night I slept with the window open because it was that nice. I fell asleep to sounds of the water. My second night was very cold and rainy and bundled up inside. The heat worked well and I was very warm and cozy. The tub water however, was yellow, so I could not take a hot bath to warm up, I also did not feel comfortable showering in it. The only other thing was that it isn't very noise proof. The second night I could hear the man upstairs snoring - but I brought ear plugs so that did the trick. Id come back because it was such a lovely location, the bed was super comfortable, the kitchen was cute, the deck superb...so many great things that it was worth the minor inconveniences - and I think staying two or three nights is perfectly fine, and would hope that the water situation was a one time occurrence.

We didn't have time to go all the places we would like to go. But the place we did go is absolute beauty, that's the light house just outside Crow Head. The lighthouse itself is a very pleasant structure to watch, with its red roof and white walls. But the surroundings are just astonishingly beautiful. The rugged towering cliff, the trails and the gentle waves down below. I had a road trip along the U.S west coast 2019, all the way from Seattle to California, the big sur is beautiful but Newfoundland coast line is much more beautiful.

Twillingate is one of my favourite spots, but some of that...
Twillingate is one of my favourite spots, but some of that is from family connections. So many vistas, several good restaurants (gotta try the cod!), a brewpub (Split Rock, with a very good assortment of craft beers), a winery (fruit wine), extremely friendly local folk, and lots of trails to wander along. The Long Point lighthouse is a must, and its museum is worth the visit too. There are also other museums, including the Twillingate Museum, and the Anglican Church next door is an amazing wooden neo-Gothic beauty. Lots of opportunities to take boat tours of the icebergs and whales, both of which are often spotted from shore too. Great town. I hope to be back.
It is a very quiet location and not far from Downtown Twillingate. My hosts were lovely and took the time to tell me where to see sunrises, sunsets and the iceberg. Pointed me in the right direction. The pastries left in the fridge were absolutely delicious and homemade, plenty of water juice eggs cereal milk and condiments for Quiet, comfortable, spotless and completely equipped. I would stay again with a few friends. It is very spacious!
It was like going home for a visit. Winston and Wavey are wonderful hosts. They made everything cozy and comfortable. Breakfast is at 8am, and all guests eat together. The conversations are nice, and Wavey and Winse are there to share their knowledge of the area. And they know a lot.
The best location to stay in Twillingate area! Centrally located, off the main road. Enjoy sunset over the bay view.
Super clean, comfortable little cottage. Exceptionally well equipped with anything you may need in the kitchen. Nice decorative details: tables, lamps, sofa.
Marvin was an excellent, friendly host and we met very interesting people who were also guests. I loved the Treasury of NL books & authors. Diana has decorated this BnB with beautiful Original artworks. We were able to attend a great show at the Twillingate Dinner Theatre.
The cleanliness, craftsmanship , decor and homemade goodies are amazing. Loved everything. Despite our very late evening arrival we were greeted by the host who gave us an excellent overview of the home and some highlights of the local area.
This is a spotless cottage on a hillside looking out over the bay in Twillingate. The hosts Winston and Wavey met us and made us feel at home. The cottage has everything you need. Just wish we were staying longer than 1 night.
Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer, big sitting room, 3 bedrooms each with separate bath. It is located in Crow Head which is a little outside of Twillingate on the way to the lighthouse. Very nice location.
The breakfast was not included in the price of hotel. I think I’m the Peak season a continental breakfast is included according to the reviews. We were a little disappointed but not a big deal.
L'hôtesse est très sympathique et attentive. Situation idéale pour visiter Twillingate.
The Guest is very friendly and attentive. Ideal location for visiting Twillingate
central location in Twillingate, nice bathroom, nice room with big TV, fridge etc.
it is pretty much the only central sleeping option out of the season - thank you!
The view on the harbour. We felt a part of scenic Twillingate. This room is designed as a studio and is perfect, clean and new.The deck is a plus on this expérience.
I especially liked the owner. She was friendly, informative, and helpful. We had a lovely stay at a lovely home and would stay there again if ever in Newfoundland!
The property is clean, cute, and has everything you need to survive in the area for a few days. Beautiful view and great location. I want to come back next year!
