Very flexible and accommodating. Checked in and given a connecting room but the adjacent guests were very loud. Brandon moved us immediately to a suite. Very customer focussed!

A delightful experience. Noni makes you feel right at home here. she overbooked by mistake and put us in their master bedroom and it was perfect! The history of the mansion really adds to the experience. Food was delicious. Noni has an information booklet that includes a fascinating write-up about her dad. I won’t spoil it you’ll have to come stay to find out! Thank you Noni. We will recommend this place to anyone we know who are coming your way and we will be back!

Location was terrific, breakfast was OK. Room was comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful.
This was our second trip to North Sydney. This trip we used as bookends to our ferry trip to and from Newfoundland. This is a quiet little town, surrounded by incredible beauty. The Black Spoon is a must if you enjoy good food. Friendly people and lots to do. NS would be a good home base for exploring the area.

The principal reason to travel to North Sydney is to take the Newfoundland ferry. As such, there are not really any attractions in the town. For travellers passing through, there are a few accommodations, restaurants and fast food outlets that offer good quality. Access to the Trans-Canada Highway is easy and quick.

We arrived on a Monday and found out there were very limited options for dinner (Chinese or Italian, i.e. pizza). Those choices did not suit us, so we had to drive to Sydney. It was not very far (maybe 20 minute drive), but there were lots of options in Sydney.

I enjoyed sight seeing. My first time to Cape Breton Island. It was exciting.
There are not enough options for specific foods. The grocery stores lack selections.
As a person who has Celiac Disease and a Dairy allergy, it is very limited to finding different choices.
It was great that I found a Boston Pizza (shout out to them) they had the gluten free dairy free options I needed.

It is the least charming or beautiful place we visited in all of Cape Breton. But we were there for music event which was great.
***Cape Breton itself is an exceptionally beautiful place so get out of town and experience that beauty. Highly recommend.

Great B and B's close to the Ferry.
Great B and B's close to the Ferry. Loved eating at the Lobster Pound Restaurant (terrific steak too) and the Black Spoon was fantastic worth the wait! Felt safe walking in the town seeing many of the older homes.
The hotel is very convenient for serving the ferry terminal which was perfect for our stay. It is an older hotel that has had extensive renovations which made our stay very comfortable. We liked it enough that we will be staying there again on our return from Newfoundland.
clean rooms, fast and easy to use internet, 5 minutes from the Newfoundland ferry, restaurants close by. We were able to park right by our unit. There was a mini fridge. We didn’t use the air conditioner as it was cool enough at night to have the window open.
John and Americo were friendly and helpful. They were very responsive and great to deal with offering many suggestions for restaurants, sights to see, etc. Room was clean. Nice porch and beautiful view of the lake. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
The beds were comfortable.
The breakfasts were fresh, tasty, and made to each person's wants.
Helene and Blair are wonderful hosts.
Located directly on the shore gave great morning views of sunrise over the harbour.
very large and beautiful room, beautiful view from room on the ferry, quiet during night, kind service for breakfast, beautiful restaurant and the hôtel is well located when you have to take the ferry.
Jane was very accommodating to our late arrival. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. At breakfast Jane was helpful in making recommendations about things to see on Cape Breton.
Location to the ferry to Newfoundland is excellent. The restaurant was fine with good food and the view from their deck was wonderful. I would return to this hotel if I return to this area.
This place is right off the North Sydney ferry and a great place to stop. Proprietor was friendly and breakfast was wonderful. We were very pleased with our accommodations.
