Being greeted by a kind and courteous employee by the name of Mulenga was a great start to our weekend and set the tone for the rest of our entire stay. (Mulenga is the epitome of customer service, don't ever let her go!) We started off the weekend with a dip in the pool, a staff member by the name of Bob helped us get the bubbles going in the hot tub. The other guests that we encountered were really nice (Zena, Neil & children) and we enjoyed getting to know them. The rooms were spacious and very clean with cozy bedding and lots of towels and necessities in the room, including an air conditioner that blasted out cold air. The night desk clerk Salom was very nice as well when we came back from our evening out. A self-serve breakfast was included although we woke up late and missed out. I did try and get a glass of orange juice but one of the workers said they were out at the fountain. While downstairs the next morning we ran into Mulenga again who realized I was really looking forward to some orange juice, although they were out, she took the time and effort and remembered they had some juice boxes so she managed to get me one of those and it made my morning. The accommodations were very comfortable with many amenities and the customer service was outstanding!

Beautiful spot on the river with home vibes. Nice and quiet too for a relaxing getaway.
Central location and easy to find. Good security, and private with adequate parking at rear. We only stayed overnight, so we ate out. But, the kitchen had everything we needed to stay in and cook. Close to the Black Tartan restaurant, which was excellent ... recommend the trout!
Firstly, this hotel is well located, walking distance of the river with great terraces, a super coffee shop, lots of shopping, and a park with swimming. The rooms are elegant, large closet, fridge, coffee, Netflix. The hotel terrace was busy, the food excellent. The personnel was very helpful, dealing with an AC unit leaking as best they could during Covid. When we forgot our fob one morning to get back in the building, they were able to reset it from a distance. Cool!
I am going through a tough time right now and can not really afford to stay at hotels. My room was basic but had a mini fridge and microwave, a queen bed and TV, a desk and a clean shower/bathroom. That’s all I really needed. The location is great, close to Walmart, McDonalds, Harvey’s, Dairy Queen and many more. The owner is working hard to restore the motel and bring it back to life. I would stay again.
This is my second stay within a month and would definately recommend it to anyone visiting that area. The building and decor is unique to anyone interested in history. And the beds are incredible enough that I must ask the hotel which brand they are. 😊
The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel offered nice little amenities like lemon infused water and coffee (all day). The pool was the perfect temperature and there were plenty of clean towels at the pool and in the room.
Location was great and lots of parking! Hotel was clean and so unique. Our room did not include a breakfast option but we had a coffee machine in room and cream/milk in mini fridge. Nice to have a mini fridge and micro!

It was a perfect location right in the town of Carleton Place. Very pleasant helpful staff. A wonderful old building with interesting decor. And the bed was soooooo comfortable.
