The hotel looks just like the photos. Spacious, clean, staff is friendly and professional. Surrounded by vegetation. Gym, game room, outdoor walking area. Lots of tables with chairs outside. If arriving before check-in time and the room isn't ready, they will let you use the pool and other facilities, as well as wifi.
Room and bathroom were very spacious. Would be good value for families or couples.
Lots of selection for breakfast.
The hotel isn't actually on the beach, the ocean is across the road but to get to the beach is not right there. City tourist area with restaurants and shops is also a few minutes away.
Super close to the airport, less than 10 minutes by Uber.
Anyway, to sum up - be aware of the forementioned caveats and it will be an enjoyable stay.

Excellent Water Park. You can visit the waterpark without staying at the hotel. The staff for the kids also excellent. I would say up to 10-12 years old this place packs a lot.
This is your place if you only consider your childs water activities and dry activities till 9pm on most nights; similarly the waterpark is open most days not everyday from 12-18.

Some staffs were very very nice to us, letting us use the kitchen while it was not supposed to be used by clients ! They advised us on where to go out and the location of the hostel was really nice ! We didn't enjoy the pool but it's nice to have it in a hostel !

Amazing place to rest, have fun, brilliant for families. The city has great history, wonderful beaches. Also we did visit the indigenous Pataxó tribe, it was very interesting to get to know their history and culture. Overall lots to do. I really recommend Porto seguro me and my family are looking forward to go back.

It's neither the best nor worst season to visit Porto...
It's neither the best nor worst season to visit Porto Seguro, everyday was raining a couple of hours some part of day or night. Despite that once it's not high season the city was much more calm and for those who appreciate some local Bahia colours it was much more notorious than at high season.
Moreover the local spots was working much of them, and without high crowds a more pleasant visit can be taken.

Porto Seguro itself it's not the best of the places, i prefer Arraial d'Ajuda. I've been to Porto Seguro 20 years ago, and it seems the place didn't changed, i was expecting some improvements. But it's good culturally to know the place where Brasil was found by the europeans.

safe and tranquil, classy. But go to Arraila d'Ajuda. this is the neighborhood that is the most highly sought after. it is a fun ride with your car or bike or walking on a blast ( barge ) 2 minutes and you are in paradise, the best beaches and the hippest center and restaurants and shops. Remember, Porto Seguro is the city where the airport is but in 15 minutes you will be in paradise where the action is in Arrail d'Ajuda!

I was seeking for a place to relax and some places in Porto...
I was seeking for a place to relax and some places in Porto Seguro were great. Coroa Vermelha, Arraial da Ajuda and Trancoso were great places to relax and chill with the family. There are also some places that annoyed me but people with no child that looks for loud music, dance and party would like to visit.
The room was basic and clean, and the property is peaceful and scenic: there was a multi-floor open air veranda with wood and wicker furniture, overlooking a small swimming pool with nice hibiscus hedges and lots of bird life. It's on the airport mesa and overlooks Porto Seguro with views of Arraial d'Ajuda. The owner is a character -- a French expat who has a rich life history which you can learn if you ask (and listen). The staff was friendly and helpful and willing to accomodate all of our requests.
1. Spaciousness: The vastness of the hotel provides a sense of grandeur.
2. Attentive Staff: The team at Shalimar is commendable for their helpfulness and prompt service.
3. Tranquil Pool Area: The beautifully designed pool area serves as a perfect relaxation spot.
4. Quality Internet Connection: The internet service was reliable throughout my stay, facilitating easy connectivity.
5. Delightful Breakfast: The breakfast spread was diverse and satisfying.
The location of this hotel is excellent, next to an empty & clean beach (August is low season), with famous attractions being 2-3 km away in the City - can be reached on foot, including the pretty Historic City Center, if you climb almost 300 steps up to the top of the cliffs; rewarding views !

All staff was very friendly & helpful.
It's not what you see/ imagine from the pictures. The place felt old and not clean. There was hair all over the bathroom and the bedroom smelt like it was closed for ages. The staff at the restaurant wasn't helpful at all and the driver who dropped us to the airport was really rude. The leasure space had a awful smell as well. It doens't feel like a 4 stars hotel at all.
located in the “Cidade Histórico” the pousada is charming , comfortable, with beautiful tropical gardens and an amazing pool. Our room was shabby chic style with AC and mosquito net and a very comfortable large bed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff “muito amigável “It is the ideal place to start or finish your Bahia adventure “.
The first thing I must say is that the staff is very polite and welcoming, and always greet you with a smile. The facilities are new and there are plenty of activities to do with kids, even on rainy days. The food and drinks are excellent, as they should be in Bahia.

Forget everything I’ve said until now about cleanliness of any hotel, hostel, resort and so forth. This house is in another level. Also the staff very friendly and helpful even for Bahia.
I had great expectations about this place until I get there and change my mind. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing, calm and silent place, this hotel is not for you.
An excellent place to stay close to the city centre in Porto Seguro. The room was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the beach. The wifi gave us no trouble at all.
