It's a beautiful place but too crowded and expensive.
It's a beautiful place but too crowded and expensive. If you are looking for parties and drinking all day long, that's the place. The gastronomy options are diverse and costly. The structure of the village is OK, good public services, however, the TUPA (tourist fee) is too expensive.

Beautiful beaches with lots of restaurants and shops.
Beautiful beaches with lots of restaurants and shops. We took a catamaran over from Salvador because our flight was cancelled. The catamaran ride is 2.5 hours and a bit choppy. We flew back to Salvador. Flight was efficient and very nice.

Beautiful island with a great vibe.
Beautiful island with a great vibe. Good restaurants and bars. The second beach is perfect for a relaxing day. Everything is accessible in Morro with no shortage of activities and opportunities for adventure on the water too.
It feels like a safe place to holiday and the locals are very friendly and welcoming.

While you have the beauty and feeling of a relaxing tropical island, there is enough to do such as island hops, ocean zipline, sunset cruises, walks to and from Gamboa beach, scuba diving etc. You do not get bored. The seafood available on the island is amazing and a huge highlight. But the best thing about the island was the amazing local people. A magical spot.

A lovely place even if crowded at the popular end--1st, 2nd & 3rd beaches but as Anima is on 4th it is quiet and undisturbed.
Worth the 2.5 hr water crossing. Morro is on the land side of the island and within a reef so calm and shallow water.

It is an awesome place to go relax and party.
It is an awesome place to go relax and party.
For parties you have to pay between $35-$100 Brazilian reals.
There is lots of food options and small stores around.
It is not “cheap” there like we thought.
The only thing we disliked was that to transfer from the airport of Salvador de Bahia to Morro de São Paulo it was about 5 hrs.

The hosts are very friendly and always happy to help. The lovely apartment has an equipped kitchen and television (even with Netflix). It was way bigger and more comfortable than many places I stayed before and after in Brazil. There is a hammock on the front porch. The beach is amazing, I liked the 4th beach way more than the first 3. If you are looking for a quiet time, this or the fifth beach are the places to be. You can safely walk (all night long) to the first three beaches (roughly 30 minutes till the 3rd beach).
I know Morro de Sao Paulo quite well but I hadn't been back in over 10 years. I wanted a place close to the beach but not so near that I could hear the parties! So the hotel Patua do Morro provided me the perfect location. A short walk to all the amenities of Morro but far enough for some peace and quiet.
The breakfast was fabulous - so many choices.
The hotel is very clean and the pool bar staff made amazing cocktails!
I picked pousada Halai randomly mainly to escape the Carnaval confusion in Salvador. I was pleasantly surprised by the location, Gamboa, at Morro de São Paulo but very pleased with the Halai pousada. Alllesandra, the proprietor, was extremely congenial, helpful, and efficient as well as her staff. And, the beaches are quite good surrounded by greenery with a quaint village of friendly locals and cantinas.
Everything was Amazing in this hôtel. Breakfast, rooms, bar, cocktails, swimming pool, employées. The location is directory on the 2nd beach and the view from the rooftop pool is superbe.
WE had an issue with the aircon leaking in our room and they upgraded us to a better room with jacuzzi bathtub.
I can't recommend enough this hôtel.
The staff was fantastic. Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The breakfast was great and the location was perfect. We were close to the pier, so the walk from the boat to the hotel was very easy - even with luggage. The proximity to the pier means some noise in the morning from the arriving boats, but it did not bother us.
The views are spectacular, big room with a terrace and a kitchen. Its VERRY difficult to get to the hotel. You have to walk a long way the road is precarious, dark, you have to climb to g to get there.
There is no food service available they don't even give you shampoo.
the place is beautiful but with these drawbacks
This is a great pousada very close to the port and the central area of Morro de Sao Paulo. The location was wonderful, with the chalets high on the hill, with a perfect view out to the sea. There's even a cute funicular to get up to the room. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was great as was the pool area.
The hotel is super clean and has an incredible view from every room. The service is also top-notch, and we had excellent sleeping nights.
It was great to return to a clean room every evening after a day at the beach. The AC is always working, and some refreshing air welcomed us.
The location is nice and quiet and the breakfast was excellent. It included all the standard Brazilian breakfast foods as well as eggs made to order. It is served on a beautiful deck overlooking the ocean. The host, Werner, is very friendly and great company.
I was impressed with the breakfast. It is amazing, a great variety of brazilian treats. And everyday there are different options to choose from. I also like their Pizza, they serve Pizza in the restaurant only on Tuesday and Saturdays.
You don't feel you are in a hostel but in a hotel. Nice bedroom with AC and it's own bathroom! Breakfast if you like. The house is quiet and with amazing view! The owners are so so cute. ♥️
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The breakfast, the pool, the beach, everything is right there and still in the "middle of nowhere" which makes it awesome !
O equipe foi ótimo! The hotel was in the middle of everything which is so convenient. Beautiful ocean view, good breakfast and everyone is so welcoming and nice.
The place is just amazing, is an immersion into Brazilian nature in front of the beach number 3.
The staff, the decoration, the cleanness, everything amazing!!!
had an amazing stay! Very friendly and helpful stuff! Directly at the most beautiful beach in Morro de São Paulo. Good breakfast and very clean and big rooms.
The room smelled great and was clean, the hotel crew were very friendly, when i asked about gluten free options at the breakfast they made me spacial dishes.
