The property was very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was right there or within a very short walk due to its central location to the village center and beach. It was less than a 10-minute walk to everything. Hotel management and staff were friendly and accommodating. Between the comfort of the bed, pillows, and air conditioner in the bedroom, we slept wonderfully!

When you walk into Pousada tortuga you will embrace yourself into a magical place , surrounded by native plants with tasteful fruits ( that are served during breakfast ) that were planted by his owner, Mariano , one of the coolest person we met during our Bahia trip.
Not only the Pousada is cleaned and neat but also has its own private beach making an excellent place for those who love proximity to beach sea.
Every morning Josi and Alessandra will prepare a wonderful and fresh breakfast for all guests . Not only the products used are local and organic , moreover Josi is a master in the kitchen . We are passionate about cooking as well and Josi shared with us so many of his cooking tips !!
When we decided to look for a place to stay during our time in Barra we wanted to be away from the more tourist area so the Pousada was the perfect location; however as the Pousada is around 25’ walk to the city village take into consideration this if you are not an enthusiastic walker as we are.
Overall we have a wonderful staying at Posauda Tortuga and definitely would recommend to anyone who travel to Barra Grande.

Forget to get there by car. We rented a car in Ilheus and from Itacare to Barra Grande we have done 2 and a half hour for 60kms! It is simply insane. We were very worried about car condition and also about our own safety (a car started to follow us). After the trip we have been advised to better go to Camumu and then take a boat to get there or directly via boat from Itacare, Ilheus or wherever. No asphalt, so please be aware of this and possibly rent an expensive quad (200 reais per day). Locals do not want to make asphalt streets because they say that will attract more people but Barra Grande literally lives from tourism. Who really gets them? Craters each inch and full of water. You can really lose your car there! Wanted to see the natural water pools of Taipu de Fora but could not reach them due to water craters on the "road". Decided to save the car and finally left the peninsula.
Best breakfast we had in our trip, and the place is really new so everything was working perfectly. Ricardo and Angelo were also very nice and the reception was well organized, they had nice tips for our stay and also great suggestions for restaurants and beaches to go. I recommend this place for anyone who wants to know Barra Grande. Location is pretty near everything. Thanks a lot for the reception Angelo and Ricardo!!

Great apartment, located in a quiet street with supermarkets, pharmacy etc. nearby. Very comfy hammock in front of the apartment, perfect to relax and read a book. I walking distance to the nicest beaches of Barra Grande. And most importantly, the communication with Hiane, was excellent. Always very responsive and keen to offer help, and give recommendations.

The location is right next to the beach and in the center, but very calm and safe. Food is amazing. The owners help with everything. They also have bikes to rent which we recommend a lot! Perfect Bahia experience.
Public rooms are spacefull, my room was enough big but other rooms ??? Food was delicious, al seafood.
It seams that this hotel is only under command of ladies and we stay in Brazil! The land of men..Oh, what modern (but very OK!) style of ladies, still lady like.. can be a copy for our countries.
The hotel is located in a wonderful beach. Staff was very kind, which always makes a difference. There is a really comfortable infrastructure in the gardens and at the beach, which is perfect for relaxing.

Just round the corner from the centre of Barra Grande so perfectly placed but not at all noisy. Lovely room, really friendly staff and the breakfast is exceptional!
