You must visit beaches with hour away, don't go over two hours drive because roads are nit very comfortable.
Thai is why I do recommend a tour guide like Milton.

Nothing interesting to justify a stay. We had been robbed the mobile phone in the first 2 hours of our arrival, in a quiet and modern city mall.
The beaches are nothing special, the sea difficult to enter due to the many rocks right at the bottom
Just stay the minimum you need and head for better places. Only interesting area is the fish market where you buy the seafood and nearby restaurants cook it for you.

It's a huge city and tourism has not recovered to pre-epidemic levels. The grates, tall walls, electric fences and graffiti alert you to potential trouble. The beaches are fabulous and the night life active, but tourists should take common sense precautions. The evening artisan fair on the city beach is a must visit.

What a beautiful city! the sites and view of the bay was spectacular. I felt very safe walking from the hotel to the row of restaurants along the water.
And the food was spectacular. I cannot wait to return.

And it seems like there are pockets of good spots. But overall the city is very dated. Very grimy and very polluted.
As a foreigner i would not recommend there are much nicer places in Brasil.
Fortaleza is over priced and underwhelming
A truly amazing place to stay. This is how all hostels should be. I recommend anyone travelling to Fortaleza to stay here as you will not regret it. Friendly atmosphere, great breakfast in the morning, clean instalations, and the people who work here are very nice and helpful. The location is great too. About 20m from the Iracema beach and on top of that there is a supermercado opposite. Also there is a swimming pool which is great! For everything you get the price is really good. I hope to come back again soon!
Probably one of the most modern hotels in Fortaleza. Stepping through the door, it feels like a different world. The interior design is well done with natural materials and the pool area offers a very calm, relaxing and tropical vibe.
Check-in and check-out were quick and everone was very welcoming.
The breakfast offered a buffet style with bread, cereals, fruits, scrambled eggs, waffles and more. Additional one could order omelette and tapioca.
Tip: there is a supermarket right next to the hotel.
Breakfast is exceptional with a wide range and catering to all diets. The pool is in the shade under some beautiful trees making it an excellent place to relax, rooms were clean and bed comfortable. There is also a small room with toys for children to play in. As a new hotel everything looked fresh and clean. There is a super market next door and a laundry place making it really convenient. Would definitely be back.
Very good hotel, a bit pricey but not to bad for what they offer. Very good location, great variety of food for breakfast, brilliant staff at the reception and porter. Apart from only one person who made my check out who wasn’t really happy to be there or didn’t like me was the let down but apart from that one person every other one was really nice and help full! This is the second time we have been to this hotel in Fortaleza. The staff were friendly and the man at the door always said hello in English, which was a nice touch. The room was large and the bed humongous. (Deluxe double with sea view)
The breakfast had a great selection and I especially enjoyed freshly made tapioca com quejo! This hotel has a great rooftop pool with amazing views.
Great location just across Crocobeach facility and praia do futuro beach itself. The whole staff is great! Friendly and accomodating. But the manager Amanda, receptionist Erick and Antônio went above and beyond to help us when my husband had a little accident. It is good to know the hotel staff cares and does everything to make the guests stay pleasant and smooth. Thank you all!!!
Many hotels in Brazil claim to be 4 or 5 stars but fail to deliver on service. Gran Marquise succeeds where they fail, delivering high quality service from check-in to checkout and may well deserve a 5 star rating. Friendly service, free and plentiful amenities like water bottles, and staff that seem eager to help at every step life Gran Marquis to a higher level.
It is only a short drive from Fortaleza airport so it was very convenient for us for a short overnight stay. Everything met our expectations for the good price we payed. Very clean, comfortable to rest for a few hours, very nice welcome by reception clerk in the late hours of the night. We liked our stay and were very satidfied.

We are used to stay in 5 star hotels, but this 4 star hotel surprised us positively. In our view it is at the high end of 4 star hotels.
The place was an old fashioned hotel, really close to the beach and in a quiet section of town (the newer hotels are all close to construction sites). The breakfast was awesome, the place was really clean, and the staff very friendly (which is par for Brazil).
Good breakfast ( 20 reais). The hostel is huge..clean and very well maintained. Seems like to be in a hotel ( lights very amazing). Big kitchen. Room was comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms.
The value. It's a solid hotel that's priced around the same as much lower quality hotels. The building was also very secure w lots of personnel always around. Oh, and pão de queijo!!!
The location of the hotel was the best they could offer because of its ocean view room. The problem is the location is surroundings a bit sketchy and full of homeless people.
