Beautiful place to stay and get out of town, the property itself is excellent with a lot of room and different amenities. The rooms we stayed in were well set out and came with a complimentary bottle of port! If that's not top notch service then I got no clue what is. The hosts Graham and Helen were very welcoming and friendly, while making sure to respect our privacy, Graham even went out of his way to give us a lift into town. Would 100% stay here again. Thanks alot Graham and Helen!

If you’re looking to step back in time and be close to nature, you would have an amazing experience staying at The Dairy! This barn-turned-cottage has the perfect authentic rustic feel to it, surrounded by a beautiful field, overlooking the hills and close to the Avon river. Every now and then, you could even hear the train passed by, adding to the perfect olden day atmosphere. The Dairy truly gave a comforting space to stay at, even during some of the hottest days of the year, and I’m already looking forward to come back in the future.

Toodyay IGA had some fantastic ready made meals for travellers and fresh fruit salad. Historic buildings made the town interesting to see. Countryside is very appealing and attractive. Not far out of Perth.

There were two festival on, one in Toodjay and the ajoining township of Northam, it was very busy, there is usually a lot of parking available around the town. We had been to Toodjay previously. Lovely little town, interesting heritage sites and quaint shops, wonderful bakery and the pubs do great meals. Not far from Northam which is also full of culture and heritage.

I was a paying customer but couldn't get into the resteraunt for dinner. They said that I needed to make a booking. Its hard to make a booking when you don't reach the hotel until late in the afternoon , you don't feel like searching for somewhere to eat after a long drive.

On the edge of town with an art gallery down stairs.
On the edge of town with an art gallery down stairs. Current exhibition is abstract art. For a building that was first built in 1862 yes 1862 it is novel to hear stairs and floor boards having a little creak when you walk on them. Over all the building is beautiful for it's age. clean and provincially decorated. Easy walk into the middle of town to the bakery or tea rooms. Walk down the lane way to the foot bridge that was an old railway bridge over the river and head either east or west for a lovely mornig walk on the Avon River, Lots of birds to be seen. Bird hide on the river about 3 k from the manor on the Eastern side and the local old church 1 km on the other end of town.

A lovely country town in the Avon Valley.
A lovely country town in the Avon Valley. The Victoria Hotel is a good place to stay, with a great restaurant. The Bakery is 'the place to be' during the day with melt in mouth pasties and pies, and cakes and pastries. Lots of local history to absorb, as well as the beautiful surrounding countryside. Well worth a visit with an easy drive from Perth.
