Location was incredible - only a 5min walk from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. Great views from the restaurant/lounge. Staff were very friendly and enjoyable to chat to. The cabin was the perfect size for a couple. It was a very comfortable stay.

The nature was great view into nature was great fire place and foyer was amazing and staff very welcoming and helpful . The complimentary washing powder and laundry was nice
One of the most scenic places we have ever seen. We went back into the park late at night to stargaze. We had never seen the Milky Way look like that. Utterly beguiling, a true “must do”. Dove Lake is just a perfect place to visit. We will definitely be returning.

An absolutely stunning national park, with lakes and mountains and lots of fresh air!
There is only one road into the park, and once you have passed the visitor centre and various accommodation options, CM can only be accessed via the Park Service's shuttle buses. This has stopped the nightmare of people driving on roads they are not capable of handling, and makes your trip up to Dove Lake far more pleasant,
Check the park service's website for ticket options and prices, and also for the range of marked walking trails to suit all capabilities.
Check out the photos, and make sure you visit at least once!

If you love walking, hiking or mountains in general Cradle Mountain is a blessing. Walks and circuits for every person, from the easy to the challenging one, from 20 minutes to 10 hours depending on your readiness, fitness, and training. Clean and well-maintained with spectacular views from the top, weather permitting :-). Keep in mind that you are in a mountain environment and the weather can change quickly and completely in a very short time. Good phone coverage on quite the whole area, and if you are into astrophotography its a Bortle 1 sky, cannot get better then that.

We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain.
We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain. Our first stop was the Devils @ Cradle sanctuary where we had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian Devil and the Quolls at the sanctuary. We were able to see 5 Devils being fed. Though they looked cute, they had very sharp teeth and managed to tear through the meat and bones quickly. We then went on a bus trip to Dove Lake and were able to take some great photos. Would love to visit here again.

Love the walks at Cradle Mountain.
Love the walks at Cradle Mountain. We went to devils@cradel which was so interesting. Really recommend it but keep your hands out of the devil enclosures! Bring warm clothes - lots of layers is best. We were there end of Feb and it was cold at night and early morning. We had a wild wombat just amble by, eating as it went.

Check-in process seemless. Reception Staff were friendly, gave excellent service and made us feel genuinely welcome.
The fact that there was quite a well stocked area with a range of grocery items, including dairy and frozen goods, was a bonus for our travelling group.
The cabins were equipped with a very efficient heating system, which had been turned on prior to our arrival, to warm the rooms up.
Our own little cabin in the woods! Cosy, warm, comfortable! Woodsmoke Cabin- loved the warm fire and hot bath after exploring Cradle Mountain!
A small but very well equipped kitchen. We came with groceries and plug in hot plates and microwave ( saucepans, frypan, crockery, cutlery, toaster , kettle , small fridge and even wine glasses! There was also an air fryer- though we didn’t use it)
A quick walk to Visitor centre and shuttle bus!
Our family of three absolutely loved our stay at the Cradle Mountain Highlanders. It was our favourite accommodation whilst in Tassie. It was very clean and well appointed. Excellent cooking facilities. The beds were super comfortable. The cabins are spaced well appart with trees all around with wildlife literally at your doorstep. It was such a peaceful, private place to stay, so quiet. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice hotel just a couple minute drive from the Cradle mountain narional park visitor centre and shuttle bus. Room was nice and clean although the bathroom could probably use an update. Loved the location and the surroundings of the hotel where we could watch the wonbats in hte evening. Buffet breakfast was ok, had a variety of stuff to choose from, although some of it (like e.g. croissants or jam) was not that good.
The gorgeous spa room we stayed in was delightful, so comfortable, cosy and quiet.
The magnificent nature walks at cradle Mountain and surrounds were stunning.
The restaurant food was delicious and staff were all just so friendly.
Also well worth treating ourselves at the day spa where the staff and treatments were superb.
Highly recommend staying at peppers at cradle Mountain.

Beautifully located cottages in the middle of the forest. Lovely staff. Clean, comfortable interiors. Our cottage had a balcony facing the forest. There was a huge spa bath in the middle of the room and a window daybed, both with a view of the forest. The hotel lounge was very pleasant, and we enjoyed the happy hour next to the fireplace there and the view of the cradle mountain.
Beautiful cabin set in the heart of Cradle Mountain, close to the visitor centre but far enough away from other cabins for privacy. Cabin equipped for basic cooking, and option to borrow DVDs for cosy evenings in.
Spa bath provided a good view of the wilderness, towels were new and v soft and bed was v comfy. Overall a great stay!
The room was very well decorated and there was a great view of the forest looking out from the Jacuzzi. The cabins had lots of privacy and we were not disturbed by any of the neighboring cabins. Location was very near to the cradle mountain visitor center for shuttle access to the national park.
Cosy modern chalet accommodation with good heating and comfy beds. Great location very close to all activities at Cradle Mountain. The staff at reception and in Hellyer's lounge were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area
it was much fancier than I expected and extremely close to the entrance of cradle mountain national park.
I was so happy to have free self- serve laundry (they even had detergent) after a week of hiking! I also loved the fireplaces.
Fantastic position nestled in the bush and being so close to Cradle Mountain. Cosy getaway with gas fire and spa to keep warm.Enchanting walk back to the lodge for yummy meals at the Tavern with real chalet feel and big open fires.
We were in one of the new cabins and it was great. Had everything we needed, bed was comfy and it even has a fireplace in the living room. Would definitely come back to stay here again if we ever head up to Cradle Mountain again.
The best location! Easy access to everything, very convenient with the two restaurants and a small shop. Wildlife was everywhere and just a beautiful serene area.
Stayed at Cradle Mountain Hotel to and much preferred the Lodge!
Had a lovely night in one of the cabins. The cabins are perfect and very comfortable. The location is also great as right across the road from visitor centre. Staff are also lovely and helpful.
Highlanders was perfect - the cabins were well organised the staff wonderful and the location is perfect . Walking distance to the visitor centre to catch the bus to cradle mountain
The location was central to Cradle Mountain walks and hikes. The room was very comfortable with a cozy gas heater - which was even necessary in December, much to our surprise.
great bar/ bistro with friendly and professional staff, good size room with comfy bed, fire places in hallways, short nature walk straight from the hotel door
