We arrived to a personal greeting for each member of our group. Gerda and Niekie were exceptional hosts. Their staff were very polite and accommodating as well. Their meals were good and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The mattresses really comfortable. Lastly, their attention to detail was very good and they were also helpful in other ways too. Can recommend a stay here.

Excellent stay in a sanctuary close to the airport and Windhoek. If you want to spend the first night or last night close to Windhoek, this is a great option. I would suggest to stay at least two nights to have time to participate in the various wildlife activities they offer on the premises. Corne met us with welcome drinks at the reception and gave us all the necessary information we needed for our stay. He and the rest of the staff have been very helpful and responsive. If you read my review you probably have read as well some other recent reviews, as I did and I almost cancelled my stay here. I'm so glad I didn't, because we had a wonderful stay, one night was just too short. The recent very negative reviews definitely don't do justice to this great place that has been created with a much deeper reason than just being a lodge. Don't expect a luxury lodge at the top end, but that is not what you are paying anyway. The cost is totally justified for what you get. We stayed in chalet number one, very convenient next to the main building with the restaurant, reception and common reading area. Our room was super clean and nothing was missing, everything well stocked, towels, coffee, tea and minibar. There are definitely no rats in the room, my guess is that some guests might have mistaken the rock hyrax for rats. It could happen if you leave the sliding windows to the deck open that some curious animals enter your room, the instructions to always close the doors is clearly marked, even baboons could enter and they could really mess around. But aren't the animals one of the reason why we come to visit Namibia? Just don't let them enter your room. We had a wonderful sunset horse ride which Cindy, the caretaker of the horses. She is very calm and did a wonderful job and her colleague prepared us a sundowner for our last sunset in Namibia out in the wilderness, amazing! The 4 course diner was delicious and so was the breakfast!

The accommodations themselves were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, with everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The owners, Chris and Chrisna, were incredibly welcoming and hospitable, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. But perhaps the highlight of our stay was the dinner we had at Windhoek Rural Self Catering. It was, without a doubt, the best meal we had on our entire Namibia tour. The food was absolutely delicious, and the setting was perfect - we enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the mountains while savoring each and every bite.

Set on a privat nature reserve outside of Windhoek, Onjala features outdoor activities like nature drives, bush walks and stargazing. All food provided was excellent. The pools were inviting and cooled your body as we did not have air-conditioning in our room. Staff were very helpful.

With Alte Feste Museum reachable in 5.9 miles, River Crossing Lodge provides accommodations, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge and a terrace. Free WiFi is provided. We chose this lodge as our starting and ending stops for our trip to be near the airport. We were pleasantly surprised and felt it had so much more to offer than a pure "sleepover" stay. The views from the chalets are amazing and you can not tell that this place is literally 5 minutes outside of Windhoek. The breakfast and dinners were excellent and they also have a nice pool / bar for a great sundowner / evening experience. The rooms were excellent as well, spacious , large beds and fitted with AC with a great view. It was also very well priced and staff was very welcoming, it definitely gave our trip a great start after a long european flight and was perfect to finish off the trip.
