We were looking for something that was quiet, off the beaten track, and still in our budget--and Lukes place was perfect. The property is beautiful and the chalets are well equipped (seriously!). There was such attention to detail in the chalets--everything you might need for a self-catering location. Linda was incredibly helpful with local tips and any questions we had. A very good value, high quality location.

The compound was so romantic and beatiful and very clean - even the palm beach outside the hotel was cleaned every morning. The staff was very helpful and polite - the manager a real precious gem. There is a lovely beach bar close to the hotel - apart from that everything is very quiet. Don't forget to visit Vilanculos village with its busy market and labyrinthian stalls where you can buy all sorts of fresh foodstuffs. Seafood lovers will also appreciate the selection you can buy from the fishermen/women at the beach every morning. My wife and I spend a week at the hotel - but how I wish that I could stay another week.

New Giraffe House is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Vilanculos where guests can make the most of its outdoor swimming pool, garden, and bar. Excellent. Clean rooms, very kind staff, fantastic breakfast, delicious restaurant for dinner and perfect location (direct door to the beach and sea views all time), swimming pool and shower for take out the sand. They can also help with tourism recommendations (boat trips to islands, etc.). Very recommended. They made us feel like home.

Many locals come to help bring the fish off the boats (women carrying buckets on their head) and to buy.
